I too have scene both teams play. I predict (not a blow out) but the game ending at the end with 45 points. Brenham wins and takes state. Seguin has got some good players, but if one gets hurt then they are in trouble. Brenham has good players, but if one gets hurt theres 12 other guys that can take his place. After watching 5 years of sixman football I have never seen a team so hungery, hit as hard as they do, play as good as they do, and run as fast as they do. Not one of them has fear. #7 leads the team with #23, but they have good blockers, good runners, good wide receivers, good kickers, good tacklers. They have 45d ever team they have played. I think in order to make a game fair against Brenham, Brenham needs to hand the other team their playbook before kickoff. Anyway, Im sad about Freddys loss. There my boys!!! good game against them Seguin. A hurtful win for my boys but yall play with respect!
 
I completely agree with Clairatt99...If you look at the schedules objectively Brenham has actually played tough competition and Seguin has not (Fredericksburg is not Dallas Covenant and the SA schools are down this year) but you play the games for a reason (injuries, weather, turnovers, momentum, etc.)...my point is Lifegatesports and seguinlifegate are not players but their comments have done the following:

1) Irritated a "better on paper" and very good Brenham team (or other teams)
2) Placed the real players in a very precarious situation (having to back the words of adults who will never suit up)

Everyone is allowed their opinion but if I was a player at seguin I would not like this chatter!!!!

Predictions are just another form of opinion. After last year's final, it's obvious there are no locks. Brenham knows better to look past anyone and is on a mission. But like anyone, they can be beat on any night. Even by Seguin.

I'm glad you went to the game and saw this team and i know they haven't played the schedule Brenham has but that means NOTHING! I'm not sure if mr. akin was hating on his coaches or not. (didn't really know what to think about his post). or why he would hate on them if he did. There is no arrogance from lifegate anywhere on here. Team support? yes. who can blame them. and as far as pissing the brenham kids off, how can they be pissed that lifegate respects them? These same conversations were going on last year and it was THE CLOSEST GAME brenham won. and then they lost to duncanville which nobody believed would happen except christway themselves. back off! and as the lifegate staff would say, lets just play the game. i think we can all agree on one thing. whoever wins that game is going to win state. those coaches AND PLAYERS plan to win state and are not intimidated by any record or schedule anybody has played. what about the brenham kids? how do they feel that EVERYBODY expects them to win? it goes both ways if expectations mean unwanted pressure. and if veezy deletes his account i'm just that much more for lifegate winning. i like the underdogs which is why i pulled for them in the first place but all this trash going their direction really upsets me. they're just another program trying to do what they set out to do. they played great against freddy and have risen to every opponents level thus far this season. whos to say they won't do it against brenham?
 
Okay, children. I have lots of respect for the team that comes out of Brenham.

And yes, if that game works out in three weeks, there is no question who is the favorite ... Brenham has set up a schedule of tough teams and beat them all. They also have a big hurt from last year, losing in the finals.

If that doesn't give a team motivation this year, heck, I really doubt it would be possible to motivate a team.

When it comes to schedules -- district and otherwise, you play the hand you're dealt. And often with schedules (especially in football), you don't think just about this year but next year. If you are senior laden teams (which describe both of these schools), you may want to think about how competitive the team would be the following season with that schedule. Not saying that was the idea behind either school's schedule (I was not involved in anything beyond creating the district schedule for the D3 teams).

All I'm saying is let's play the game and see what happens. A lot of you might be right. Or not.

i appreciate that bud i really do.. but this has gone far enough...i don't want my school viewed as arrogant, dirty, or being hated in any way shape or form... i wasn't serious about what i said in the first place.. it was meant to be a laugh and wasn't taken that way... i apologized before and will do it again... my guys don't even read this site... THEY are the most humble group of kids i know... even if sometimes i get carried away with their success... again this is an apology and i won't speak of it any more... consider the pride swallowed and lets enjoy these next four games no matter the outcome...
 
I am not arguing arrogance but rather stupidity...anybody who knows football knows comments like made opposing coaches, players, and fans are used as locker room material. I did not know these were the coaches...but that makes it worse. Why not just keep to yourself and get your business done on the field? I agree Brenham has outside pressure too...the difference is it is not coming from their "coaches" on a message board.

No one is saying Seguin cant win...we are just asking why there is a need for the a fore mentioned comments!!! Personally after the comments, I hope Brenham's coaches keep their post to purely information and not self-proclaimed victories...then absolutely demolish Seguin on the field.

Sir you are way out of line. I am "the other guy". Not "the new guy". I dont show ANY disrespect like he did. Seguin coaches if my comment offended yall I am truly sorry. I was merely stating my opinion (cause that was the topic to begin with). I dont think these comments are TICKING (not the other word you used) the Brenham people off. I think its making them laugh. They read this and just laugh cause they play with pads. Im not even from Brenham. I just stated my opinion. Seguin yall got a good group of guys. I favored Brenham over them because of stats. That is my prediction (which is the topic of all this). I have seen Brenham play and they have more than what they had last year meaning, if #7 gets hurt again (by the way they didnt have 7 when they played Dvill who happens to be probably the best 6man player ive seen in 5 years) they will be just fine cause they can easily replace him.

Brenham feels the same way we did last year - respect each opponent - plan for the worst - hope for the best - take it one game at a time - because anything can happen (and usually does).
 
if both brenham and lifegate get to the semifinal round (which i assume they will) i believe that the winner will be determined by the winner of the turnover battle in the game. i was a senior last year in the lifegate vs. brenham game and wat killed us last year was our 4 turnovers... i am not sure if we had four turnovers total in all the games before that. i believe the winner of the game wins state so we will see wat the future holds and i look forward to attending this game from an alternative view than last year. from the stands rather than on the field :/

I think Lonnie will still be here on break and able to attend! This will be his first game to "watch"...hope he takes it well.
 
Yeah I will try to be at this game to. I also think the winner of this game will win state. but hey, you never know, because anything can happen. Good luck to all the schools that made the playoffs. Lord knows i miss sixmanfootball and my Duncanville Christway teammates and coaches!
