Sounds like it was a good game yesterday and it was to bad thst both teams had to meet in the Semis. It would proabily been a better game at Moody but I think the final results whould still have Brenham on top.

Seems everybody wrote that same script last year except for our pal Coach Jerry and the Christway team. I guess there is a little "excitement" to see if Tyler Street can make lightening strike twice ... and there are a couple guys on that team that did the feat last year.

I figure that TAPPS can go ahead and engrave the trophy now. But I thought that last year and see what happened.

But don't bet on it.
 
Thanks John for a little respect. Everyone still seems to think we were lucky last year. Our Christway team was unbelievably talented with a lot of speed. We had a great gameplan going in. We knew that if we won the turnover battle, we had a solid chance!

I think this year is a little different... I personally think Brenham is better this year. Matt has done an outstanding job, and the folks from Brenham are great people. They were nothing but respectful to us last year. (Except they didn't share their space heaters with us) LOL

Tyler Street is really disciplined, and play fundamental football. Coach Favors is a tremendous coach. That withstanding, I think the speed and power from Brenham will be too much. I believe they have better depth as well. BUT!!! We do play the games for a reason!! It should be a very hard fought battle. I will be in Moody, along with most of our Christway team to support our 2 boys that play for Tyler Street. Good luck to both teams, and I pray for injury free football.

Bigsix, yes Brenham and TS play last year and the year before. Last year TS had a super team on paper and went through the year beating ever team by 45 except Christway who took them 4 quarters. Brenham beat them 45 to zip ended at half.
The year before TS meet Brenham in the Regional final , TS took them 4 quaters don't know the score.
Not taking anything away from Mr. Hargraves who won the state championship last year, he did a great job with those kids but he did take over a team that went to the final the year before. I don't know why the coach who had that team left Christway. Coach Hargraves team did win the championship it shock the private school six man world but he won. No disrespect Coach but I don't think the two players who went to TS from Christway will make a difference Sat. Coaching will win this game just like it did last year in the semis. My opinion (and I got lucky and call it right this week) Brenham wins with talent and great coaching.
 
John, Great to meet you the other day as well.
Jerry1104, you were the coach at Duncanville last year I take it. Great game! Your prep work, plan, experience and the boys won that game last year. In my opinion you were not lucky, you played better football. You taught me, my son and I am sure many others some life lessons that night. The team is going back to TAKE state this year, no ones going to give it to them!

The first time we played them it was much closer - something like 56 to 44. As for that state game last year - hmmmmm - I don't really know what to say 2 fumbles at the goal line right of the bat from a team that doesn't fumble - could of been nerves, could of been the freezing cold - could of been ??? For me the story of the game was coming back from a 28 - 0 at the end of the 1st quarter to a loss of 56 to 52. It was inspiring, our QB got it started and literally breathed life back into the team. Awesome.
 
And 6manmomma I thought you were kidding when you said you didn't know me. To funny, we shared the coffee spot at Buccees. You are correct, I am Larry.

2008 Brenham won 44-40 against tyler street.. i think.. and last year won 70-20 against tyler street. tyler street was missing two all state players including the QB but i dont think that it would have made a difference

this will be my third year in a row going to moody i was in the stands in 2008 when freddy beat us and last year i was on the field. I will be back in the stands this year to see My boys aaron and jd play in their final game!

I also think that Brenham will win it all saturday but i guarantee you that Tyler Street wont lay down and give them the trophy. Im very excited about this game and I dont know why lol. I dont know coach favors like that but I do know that he is a very good coach in every sport. He will have his team ready to play.

This will be a very fun game to be at this weekend. Hope to see you all there
