Rigdon????

GR had over 100 yds in the 1st q. He also scored on a 40 yd TD in there or early 2nd q.
Bounced his head on the turf they said. Listened into the 2nd half. He didn't come back in the 3rd q. Hope he's ok for his sake and that of his family he needs to provide for.
Bounced his head off the turf is correct. It looked a little bit suspicious at the time as the defensive player (#19) used both hands to actually slam his head to the ground, as Chaca was horizontal and going down. The right side of his head was smashed to the ground. Chaca was instantly unconscious in a “frozen” position. The defensive player looked up as if he had been caught but no foul was called so after looking down at his handiwork being attended to, he walked off. I presumed that it was ok with the officials.
Late in the game as Columbus had it well under control, the Cardinals put their back-ups in to finish out the game. #19 put a similar hit on the little Freshman quarterback. He left the field on his own but didn’t return, so I don’t know if he was hurt or not. But he took a shiver to the head. Still no call.

Big game this week. At the start of the season Columbus ranked # 2 behind Malakoff in DCTF and Franklin # 3, Hitchcock #4.
Hitchcock beats Columbus by 1 in OT, district. The game GR goes out in the 1st q with the knee injury.
Franklin beat Hitchcock last Friday. They went to state last year but lost, are hungry
They have a great RB also, A&M commit. But not Schobel at QB, or GR.

I hope that part is not true.. would definitely be a concussion.

I listened to the Jayton Klondike game through the 1st Q then switched to the Columbus game with Jayton up 24-8 and watched the score on it as it progressed.
GR scored a 67 yd td on the first play. Second play was a35 yd run. He had 140 yds and 2 td's in the 1st 1/2. They led by 21.
In the 2nd 1/2 he had another 59 yds rushing and another td for 199 yds rushing total. Plus, a 29 yd reception for 228 total yds.
The announcers commented in the 3rd Q he was being hit late after plays in frustration by Franklin after losing their star back in the 1st Q and being behind that much for the 1st time in years. Then Franklin was flagged for a facemask on him, next a late hit out of bounds. He was pulled.
Columbus won 62-42.
Because Franklin chose to go for it on 4th down with 2 min to go and didn't make it the Columbus backup scores sealing the game. Coach Schobel chooses to take knee on the extra point knowing the game is over. The Columbus crowd responded positively. Franklin scored again to make it closer.

I watched the game too and Rigdon was picked for player of the game.
Nice summary. I think everyone knows how good GR is but most still don’t really get how good he is. lol Anyway I can’t wait to watch him on Saturdays.
Be at least a few years. Probably gonna get red shirt and then have to work for a starting spot. Be big for sixman when it happens though.

Kinda disagree, might agree for a QB to allow for grooming to the next level, but as far as running backs go I think most rosters will put the best guy on the field fairly quick. Maybe a redshirt year but if a team has a RB that is a play maker and potential game changer he ain’t sitting long. Won’t be long until we find out.

Wow football and basketball! So, after someone signs letter of intent could he still decide to go elsewhere? I mean he is still racking in offers

I think so because per members on this site he has already committed to Air Force, then De-committed. Then signed with NC State and now with Wyoming. What does that tell you?

In all fairness, Wyoming is the first one I’ve seen reported that he signed with. Air Force and NC State were just verbal commitments as far as I’m aware. But I could be completely wrong.
Confirmed would be better than reported I would think. I’m just not sure why he would go to Wyoming when it appears he has better offers. Just my thought on it. Who knows.

So, when he originally committed to Air Force and NCSU they were verbal commits. Now that he has signed a letter of intent, he can still back out of it. However, he will have to request a release from the school and could possibly lose a year of eligibility. I wonder if he will stick with Wyoming or if another school offers, he will switch again?
