I was at the Gordon / RS game. RS got outplayed, simple. Additionally, RS was sloppy and undisciplined. I met some great folks in the stands from May, as they were there for the JV game before RS / Gordon. Saw some of these folks at the May / RS game as well. Lovely people.
RS looked much better against May from a discipline perspective, but there is still work to be done.
RS showed improvement against Nueces Canyon.
I don’t know the new coaches, but I know there is an adjustment period that is to be expected. Looking forward to a good season with continued improvement.
There is talk going around that Burkhart took a job at another school. I will not pass the specifics of what I heard along until I am convinced there is something to it. But it would not surprise me. He’s a good coach and his record speaks for itself. RS had a chance to get him back but those in positions of power chose another route despite the wishes of much of the community. Regardless, we are where we are and I’m looking forward to a good season and wish Burkhart well. As well as the all of the players on all teams that are giving their best.
