You've got to think WFND is going to be their district favorite, despite graduating a couple of talented seniors. Someone else in that district will have to make a big statement early in the season to convince me otherwise.

I would also give a lot of early respect to SMHC and Freddy, who both should once again make some noise come playoff time.

I heard Granbury lost a lot this season, but they are a tough team to evaluate talent wise year to year.

Tyler St should have a pair of bruisers in their backfield. The Knights scrimmage them here in a few weeks, so I'm looking forward to getting a small preview of how dynamic that duo might be early on.

At a quick glance those predictions look alright- I'd personally like to look more in depth at each team as the move back to two divisions has me reaquainting myself with those teams I didn't bother keeping up with. Also here is the breakdown of each district thanks to freeagent (may or may not be up to date)

DIVISION II

District 1
Holy Cross Catholic, Amarillo
Jesus Chapel, El Paso
Plainview Christian, Plainview
Notre Dame Catholic, Wichita Falls
Wichita Christian, Wichita Falls

North Central Texas, Granbury
Holy Trinity Catholic, Temple
Live Oak Classical, Waco
Weatherford Christian, Weatherford

District 3
Fairhill, Dallas
Tyler Street Christian, Dallas
Canyon Creek Christian, Richardson

District 4
Greenville Christian, Greenville
Christian Heritage, Longview
Trinity, Longview

District 5
Summit Christian, Cedar Park
New Braunfels Christian, New Braunfels
Hill Country Christian, San Marcos
Lifegate Christian, Seguin

District 6

Lifestyle Christian, Conroe
Alpha Omega, Huntsville

District 8

Baytown Christian, Baytown
Covenant Christian, Conroe
Brazosport Christian, Lake Jackson
Orange Community Christian, Orange

Also Cedar Park Summit was pretty good last year, made it to the semis against veritas and lost by 4 or 6. Did they lose a bunch of seniors? How do they look for this year?

shortround's pre-preseason district winners

District 1
1.) Notre Dame Catholic, Wichita Falls
2.) Wichita Christian, Wichita Fall
Don't know much about the other teams, but honestly in my opinion the second team in this district won't make it past the second round of playoffs feel free to prove me wrong :)

District 2
1.) Live Oak Classical, Waco
2.) Toss up between NCTA and BVL and others
Live Oak will take 1st in district and I have it as a toss up between NCTA and BVL because NCTA is so inconsistent on returning players, so year to year they always look different compared to most other teams.

District 3
1.) Tyler Street Christian, Dallas
2.) Doesnt matter, I think this is a weak district- same thing goes for this district that 2nd place doesn't make it past 2nd round of playoffs.

District 4
1.) Trinity, Longview
2.) Doesn't really matter

District 5
1.) Seguin Lifegate/SMHC
2.) Summit Christian, Cedar Park
I think this is the most competitive district this year. As of now I think it's a toss up between lifegate and hill country, but don't fall asleep on cedar park (they went to the semis last year and played veritas closer than anyone else in the playoffs) I might even switch cedar park to the top once I learn who they have coming back. I definitely think these teams go deep in playoffs, and depending on if there are wild cards, one might end up playing the other at state? Definitely something to keep in mind.

District 6
1./2.) Bracken Christian, Bulverde/ Freddy
It's not fun that Freddy is in a weaker district this year, but I'm sure shipman will have them prepared come playoffs. Honestly right now I don't know much about Bulverde, so I have it as a toss up between the two teams. The other two teams are irrelevant in my opinion as they wouldn't make it past the first/second round of playoffs.

District 7
1.) Alpha Omega, Huntsville
2.) Faith, Bellville/Lifestyle Christian, Conroe
I've heard talk on the boards that AO will be good, but sometimes it's all just talk.. I think these are weaker districts paired usually with weak overall schedules.. But what am I to say since I haven't even looked at their schedule.

District 8
1.) Orange Community Christian/Baytown
2.) Living Stones Christian, Alvin/ Conroe covenant
as of now I know nothing on this whole district, Alvin made it to the playoffs last year and got 45ed by Fred. There's been talk that Baytown is/isn't good, so right now I think the whole district is a toss up, but I don't see any of these teams playing for all the marbles.

AGAIN, THIS IS A PRE-PRESEASON PREDICTIONS. I don't know about a lot of the teams, so please don't be angry if I said your team is either irrelevant or that they don't matter. There is a reason that games are played on a field and not on paper. There has been a lot of talk on whether or not certain teams are good. There's been a lot of talk about Waco Live Oak, there's been a lot of talk about WFND, there's been a lot of talk about seguin and San Marcos. Sometimes the scores don't even reflect how a game was played- how much was given out on the field- at the end of the day the goal of the majority of these coaches is to make these players be more than quality young men, let's not forget that. That being said, it's fun to watch and play some smash-mouth football and win the championship!!

Well HELLO FOOTBALL FANS! I am ready for football to begin so I can slow down in my Bigfoot Reasearch organization here in central Texas. Also there are only so many John Wayne movies one can watch before you go insane. So yeah I need football right now.

Here are my "long awaited" predictions this year.

District 1- Notre Dame- Fighting Irish, but WHO CARES

District 2- Loving Oak, but DOESNT MATTER

District 3- Toss Up, but will give the edge to Longview Trinity, but SLAPPY DISTRICT #1

District 4- Hill Country, BLAH BLAH

District 5- Freddy, STATE CHAMPIONS!!!!!

District 6- Alpha Omega, IRRELIVENT- SLAPPY DISTRICT # 2

District 7- Orange- SLAPPY DOSTROCT #3

On a lighter note......I saw on TAPPS that they combined the east Texas district with the Dallas district. I did some digging and from some reliable sources I found out them at TAPPS made these districts combine. I heard some coach from Dallas area.....Flavors, was the key component behind the corporate merger. So, TAPPS lets coaches tell them what to do! I bet my last dollar that the coaches are fuming over this decision by the Texas Association of Pets and Party Supplies. Any how, you would never hear of districts being merged a few weeks before the start of the season in the UIL.....I guess TAPPS os no better than the other SLAP STICK leagues for six man. Fly by the seat of their pants and afraid of flavor flav.

I hear it's gonna be a long year for by two favorite teams....NCTA and Cedar Park Summit. Hopefully not but maybe. At least we all have the dynasty to watch.....Freddy!

Oh well! None the less I am excited for some football. My cowboys are gonna suck and my UNLV Rebels.....well bless their pea pickin hearts! So I am currently seeking to be a mascot for any team out there. Make sure you can accommodate a 6'5 368lb bear of a man. How big do those suits run anyway?

Oh well, oh and a shout out to my boy.....the ole Aggiie out east Davey Boy!

Smell you later football fans!

Dang GT way to make a bang on the first post of the season. It is deserved though, with that last move tapps made. Combining a district a week into 2 a days and making schools cancel games just because of the coach at Dallas. Wow tapps is such a joke. They have no integrity what so ever. From what I was told from a bubbly involved is they were to chicken shit to even call they sent a email on a Friday after hours, sounds like the Obama admin.

It's a shame a few coaches can run the organization and screw other program and schools over, that's so Christian. Guess tapps has gotten away from all that. Even though I don't follow much tapps anymore I will make it a point to post anything I can about that coach and the no integrity of tapps screwing over smaller schools.

Tyler, you know your lying all district 4 said no. You screwed schools not only in tapps but uil your a disgrace. You should lose your job for being incompetent. Trust me, a letter of what happen is also being circulated in uil circles also. A week into 2 days and y'all screw people.....pitiful

John Holmes

Tyler, one more thing, you also didn't tell the old district 3 coaches that district 4 said no the combining. You sir are a liar and a liability to Tapps. I really can't believe Bryan is putting up with your dishonesty and loss of integrity.

John Holmes

So we have a crook in the tapps office being called out by a porn superstar in John Holmes.
so is holmes saying sanders screwed a district.

Ok I haven't been paying much attention to any of this all week plus I don't coach at a TAPPS school anymore. So what exactly has happened?

So I have been putting my BFRO investigative skills to work this morning. It looks like the Dallas area coach that wanted to combine district 3 and 4 is actually on the Athletic Committee. I smell something fishy going on. Yeah the league can say its for the better, but after reading some of this and doing some digging, I cant believe that the league would do something like this three weeks before the start of the season while messing with teams schedules. I guess one person is running the league and it ain't the league office. What a joke. Realignment comes out in November and coaches work hard on making a schedule, then 3 weeks before the season the league office tells coaches to change their schedule. I am familiar with UIL and game contracts (coaching friends), so is there no contracts in the private school leagues? If so, who is paying the schools that were canceled on? If I had to cancel a game, I would be asking the league to pay the fine as stated in the contract set between the schools.

Till next time true believers!

So did they combine the Dallas and East Texas Districts and then reassign District numbers? Or are they combining the Dallas and Central Texas Districts?

Man its tough when people bash someone without even giving them the benefit of the doubt.
I don't know any of the big dogs who make those decisions at TAPPS but seems like the logical thing to do was to combine the 2 districts but what do i know...
no more whining and crying on this thread, can we get back to season predictions....
Anyone have anymore input on district favorites and champs?

Yes Bronk they combined Dallas and east texas last week causing schedules to be changed and coaches having to cancell games with other schools at the last minute screwing them over. Pure cluster not thought thru.

Game Traveler, why is it going to be a long season for Cedar Park Summit? Are they losing a bunch of seniors? I know nothing on this team besides that they went to the semis last year.. Also, it sucks for those involved in a district realignment from out of the blue. Best of luck to all this season, and hopefully my boys in Fred take care of business and have the chance to play for all the marbles in December.
