Whoo Dat? How bout them Owls - Another big win 47 to 0 over Kopperl (ended in the 3rd quarter). Record currently stands at 5 & 3. Don't look now, but we are fighting for a playoff spot. The owls WILL give Aquilla a run for their money next Friday. GO OWLS!!

Enough history of Covington has been discussed here dragging them down... but I have yet to see Blue Willis name mentioned.... in 94 we had to game plan around him to beat Covington in Bi-District... the beginning of the Gordon run... and then in 95.. the 3 way tie with Milford in Trinidad was a shame... off a coin toss??? The scores were lopsided! Covington BEAT Milford, lost to Trinidad by 3 points in their only loss, and then Milford went to sate and had a chance to take down Dewayne Miles. Much as we berate other teams as non factors these days, if you try to call them out, respect the history

Why is new coach being dogged for an easy schedule if he didnt make it?Are they saying that in 20 yrs there havent been equally easy schedules? (where they couldnt pull more than a few wins.)

The schedule may be easier but you still have to play the games and who really knows how good or bad teams are in February when making schedules.
They'll lose by 51 to Aquilla and they'll beat Gholson by 43.

6-4 ain't bad since the last winning season was 1997.


What does this team bring back I'm 2015 and will district 13 be weaker or stronger. What does the other teams in the district return in 2015.....

I agree they will be blown out by Aquilla by 45 mercy rule.
But for them to go 6-4 and haven't had a winning season since 1997 (17 years) is something to be proud of.

And I'd say they had pretty bad coaches the last few years
Last 3 coaches were
Trinidad coach....who has the Trojans winning. So I don't know why this guy didn't win there.
Parsons (itasca), according to my website source the old coach had him with 0 years 6 man experience when he took the job...
Jones from Wichita falls Christian who ain't had no success while he was there.....

All that equals 2 years of being set up to lose due to bad coaching staffs......

Coaches still gotta know Xs and Os and most importantly get kids who all they've known is losing is to play hard and start believing they can win.

So koo-dos to the new coaches there to change the culture around in one year.....
