District Championship

This districts championship is coming down to Ropes vs. Anton. If Ropes wins they win district and Meadow is second. If Anton wins then things become interesting with the district tie breaker rules. Anybody have an opinion on the outcome of that game?

If Anton were to win, I think you will get a lot of discussion. But its one of those games where most people, except hopefully the Anton team, expect Ropes to win. Of course there is the typical cliche responses, "Any given Friday" "It will be decided on the field".......etc., etc. Anton is one of the unfortunate teams that is in the top 32 and should by all rights be in the playoffs, but are in a district with 2 better teams and will probably not make it. I'm a fan of upsets, and an Anton win would be one, as far as #3 in district having a shot at #1 in district, I think this is one of the closer matchups, but still don't think they are quite there yet. With all of that being said, I have been known to be wrong before, and I could be surprised. I'm picking Ropes by 39.

Ropes better not think this game is going to be a walk in the park, Anton gave Meadow a game for 2 quarters, and if they win , it woul create a three way tie for district championship. I would hate for Ropes to stay home during playoffs on a coin toss. My advice for those Eagles is to go out and take care of business and not have to rely on a coin toss, you control your own destiny.

ropes wins easy they wont look past they have a good team and the coaches know what this game means

I agree that this will be a test and Ropes better be ready. However in the event of a tie it does not come down to a coin toss any more it comes down to point spread between the three teams.

Yes unfortunately we screwed that one up and it went to a coin toss but came out on the winning end kinda. I could be wrong but I think this is how it works and anyone that knows better please correct me if I am wrong. If there is a three way tie then it goes to point differential for those three teams and there is a cap which I think is set at 24 (I could be wrong on this number though). So right now Meadow beat Anton by 25 (which only counts as 24) and lost to Ropes by 11. This makes their point diff +13. Ropes is +11 from beating Anton and Anton is -24 from losing to Meadow. So if Anton beats Ropes then all of that comes in to play. The team with the highest differential is first and so on. This is how I have understood the rules. If Ropes wins then its not going to matter.
