Although I would like to think ND wins big, I gotta think the ND/Freddy game will be closer. Freddy was very disciplined last year when they trounced us. Even though they lost a lot of seniors, they had a bunch more kids waiting on the sideline. I bet it starts out pretty even and then ND's size, speed, and depth will carry them through.

Seguin Lifegate gets a breather this week.

No semi-final game is "a breather."

But Freddy/Notre Dame is gonna be one heck of a game.

The ND/Freddy score may be closer, but my prediction was mostly derived from previous scores vs a common opponent.
Notre Dame beat NCTA 64-18. Lifegate beat NCTA 83-22. Lifegate beat Freddy 65-26. This tells me that vs Lifegate, NCTA and Freddy have about the same offensive ability. It also tells me that Freddy's defense is better than NCTA's defense. Notre Dame beat NCTA by about the same score that Lifegate beat Freddy. While I haven't seen Lifegate's offense, I have seen ND's and I think it's pretty unstoppable. Also, the ND defense is adept at getting turnovers. Intangibles include ND's shorter season due to 2 teams dropping out before the season started and Plainview forfeiting. ND's players should be more rested. I'm sure that ND remembers last year's loss and wants to avenge it. Also, ND's undefeated season includes many UIL teams, half of whom also made the playoffs. I think that ND and Lifegate will meet in the Championship and that will be a very exciting and close game.
While this is still just a GUESS and anything can happen in 6 man football, I had to go with my gut feeling on the scores.
I'd love to go see the ND/Freddy game. Any ND fans have a spare seat in their car? :o)

WF Notre Dame over Fredericksburg Heritage 64-14
Fredericksburg Heritage beat Notre Dame 54-52 --- First and foremost, hats off to Freddy for a tough win and another trip to the title game. Second, congratulations to ND on a great season. I saved the end of the game for last. I'm sure it's a bitter pill to swallow for the ND fans. Should the down marker had been corrected? Yes, even if the refs had to call a time out again. Especially if it still read 2nd down. How did the refs not see that it hadn't been corrected for 2 downs? However, it all boils down to player awareness and coaching staff communication. The players need to keep in mind what down it is, how far they have to go, etc, despite what the down marker or scoreboard might say. If the player is confused, ask the ref to clarify. Not always easy to do in any game, let alone a close semi-final match. The coaching staff should be relaying that it was 4th down to the team on the field. I was not at the game, so maybe they were doing this and the team didn't hear it. I don't know. Even if it hadn't been 4th down or even if the ball hadn't have been spiked, there is no certainty that ND would have scored and won the game. So there you have it. Freddy vs Lifegate in the championship game and everyone else gets ready to take it from one of them next season.

Seguin Lifegate over Orange Community Christian 68-18
Seguin Lifegate beat Orange Community Christian 57-12 --- Not too far off on this one. Congratulations to Lifegate for getting to the title game against a familiar foe. Congratulations to Orange CC on a great season.

Lastly, thank you to the Wichita Christian Stars players and coaches for another season of memorable games. They weren't always easy, but you always kept fighting and never gave up.

One bonus prediction: The Stars had a great JV season this year. So watch out DII. The Stars will be shining brightly very soon!
