I think Whiteface takes care of business against BC. The one game that will be very exciting and telling will be WV and WB. I think this one could go either way. Great matchup!

I've got Whiteface getting beat by Gordon in the finals. Also have RS getting beat by Jayton.

1. You seem to be taking this a little too seriously…

2. I’m literally just saying that I wish there were more teams at the top of each UIL division that could compete with Gordon and Jayton. The fact that there aren’t any makes the UIL playoffs very uninteresting to me this year. Not saying that the private schools could compete with them either. Just that they are more interesting this year. Tapps d2 in particular has a lot of good teams and a ton of parity, that’s been really fun to watch. D3 has seemed like a crash collision of Wichita and Freddy all year, that’s been fun to follow as well. I don’t think UIL has that this year. That’s all.

I was surprised to see Gordon beat Nazarene (52-0) and Covenant Classical (56-0) so handily. Several years ago Covenant went toe to to with Richland Springs. I think the final was 120-113. Neither Covenant nor Nazarene are as good as they have been in the past. I wish Prestonwood North had played a top UIL team last year. That offense was unstoppable and the defense was stout. Gordon might have still won, but it would have been a competitive game…certainly not a 45.

Why is everyone down on Westbrook??? Look I could care less, but they have the toughest non district schedule and the toughest overall schedule and graduated 13 boys last year and have managed to do pretty dang well so far. Just curious what’s that about?? Is it because of the Robert Lee game?? If people are doing that then why isn’t water valley getting slammed for losing to Hermleigh and not even putting Ira away? Just seems funny to me

Look I could care less, but they have the toughest non district schedule and the toughest overall schedule and graduated 13 boys last year and have managed to do pretty dang well so far. Just curious what’s that about?? Is it because of the Robert Lee game?? If people are doing that then why isn’t water valley getting slammed for losing to Hermleigh and not even putting

Just FYI, Hermleigh didn’t have a first down the whole first quarter and into the 2nd until they targeted our best running back and big time defender and took him out. And WV still led the whole game until the very end. So they were handling Hermleigh easily.

I get what you’re saying. But as of now they are the defending State Champions. This year has to be completed and I agree from all the talk chances are they go back to back. Just saying, they aren’t there yet and upsets do happen even to great teams unexpectedly. Now predicting next year is probably going too far for me personally. Some kids peak at different times. Some early, some later. Just never can tell. And from one year to the next things can change in a hurry for other teams just as it did for Gordon.

They didn’t target nobody, he got hit straight up on the sideline I was at that game.

I’m not down on Westbrook. Seriously proven team. Back to Back Champions 2021 & 2022 and played in last 3 State Championships. I get a kick out of this site and obviously spend too much time here. But I like it, and I did observe in the D1 bracket challenge I believe majority have you guys in the big game again. As far as this week more folks picking y’all than your opponent. Y’all are 26 point favorite by the toy. Your good. Good luck Friday night and may both teams play their best and injury free games. When it’s all said and done my biggest hope is the team representing the west can give Gordon a game and hopefully surprise the 6-man Nation and win it all.

I didn’t mean it in the way it apparently came off. I enjoy following both, I was never arguing that the football being played in tapps is better. Just that it’s a little more unpredictable right now which makes it more interesting to me this year.

I haven’t seen Covenant since the Lanham Briley era. No way Gordon holds those teams scoreless. I just know they seem to be on par with Nazarene, who wasn’t as good as they were last year. Hopefully I’ll be able to attend Prestonwood vs Covenant on Friday. Should be a really good game.
