Rankings/ talk

While on the subject of rankings... I have made a few changes. We had a score or two backwards and needed to eliminate the schools that are not playing (I think I have them all out now, but no promises). Please let me know if I have missed anything...

If you are speaking to the number of times the west talks about itself and the rankings being top-loaded with west teams, please understand "it ain't bragging if you can do it". They can do it.

Blum did a pretty good job of shining the East in a good light on Saturday at Hico. It's early, but it looks like Blum and Abbott will slug it out in the East. Of course, it would be folly to count out May, Strawn and Gordon.

My thoughts is a lot of the numbers he's saying he uses relies on such as strength of schedule which he's looking back last year. Take Woodson for example they didn't play last year do to loosing a player due to injury. But they rank above teams that played and and won. I'm sure there's several teams that lost 5-9 seniors that's not looked at either. Don't get me wrong most the top choices are good but it's your middle rankings that relies on more west than central and east.

After last week and being a 1 point underdog this week it sounds like the Gordon game could be a good one to see.

You do know the Guru really uses a dart board of Texas with sixman towns on it and only "works" on it after sampling Goob's evercleer?

Makes sense Paducah is still under MC and MC didn't even play 10:00 min of a game.

I think throckmorton only had 3 starters O/D back and one of their losses signed to Midwestern state but has a brother I guess to take his place. I watched him play the other day and is great for there offense down the middle with no cuts but there defense was a little relaxed. I think they came in ranked 4th and haven't completed a game and the one they did start didn't have that big a margin and how was that team ranked.

Thank you. The season does not truly get going until what was once called by someone the Toy is questioned.
Hint. It get's more accurate as the season progresses. I.E. if Paducah continues to win and beats MC they will pass them in the rankings.
Note. What really matters is where your ranked at Christmas.

Who is the most under ranked team in 6-man??

My pick comes from a little team out of College Station. The Aggieland Homeschool Spartans are in their 2nd year as a program and are looking to surprise a lot of teams this year.

I saw their scrimmage against calvert, mt.calm, and buckholts this year.

Buckholts-demolished
Mt.Calm- were better than easily
Calvert- played great on offense, a little shy on defense at first, but last 7 plays, they didn't score and picked it off once.

Pretty upsetting seeing them ranked 170.....should easily be top 25(if you see their spreadback run and throw, you might say top 10)

In week 1, they were picked to lose by 30 to a good Bastrop Tribe team. THE Spartans ended the game in the third quarter with a score of 59-14, scoring 27 points in 6 min.

These boys look very hot this year. If you have a chance to see them play this year, don't pass it up.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but we were at this scrimmage.

Buckholts-demolished (Correct)
Mt. Calm - were better than easily (you must be a coach or a parent, because no way, shape or form was Aggieland better than Mt. Calm. Mt Calm was the best team there IMO. They scored more TD's than Aggieland!)
Calvert - No comparison. Much better scrimmage when Mt. Calm and Calvert went toe-to-toe.

This is just my opinion, I just hate it when I see someone to claim to be "better than easily", but you lost. If I was correct, it ended 3-2 Mount Calm. We had to do the write up on it and oddly enough, Aggieland's first TD came on 6th down, but there was only one official, so no one noticed. Don't mind your enthusiasm, just be accurate and honest. We were there. not rooting for any teams - just scouting. Aggieland is very under rated, but not better than Mt Calm or Calvert.

Mt.Calm.....better than Aggieland? No sir. If you noticed the plays played in the scrimmage. Aggieland ran simple tight plays the first 5 plays for simple plays. As soon as they went spread, scored on first play, and then again on play 8. I too am a scout. I am not taking anything away from Mt.Calm at all. Coath Satcher is a phenomenal coach and will do good things with them, but in a real game, could not match up against Aggieland. There spreadback is phenomenal and will go all state. As I expect Mt.Calm defensive end/running back(sophomore boy who was hurt in wreck) to do when he heals. But the reason Mt.Calm did so well against calvert is bc they play good D against the tight formation. But struggle against the spread. We will see Come the end of the year.

Looking at Mt.Calm week 1......not as good as you say. Especially if you say they are as good as calvert

But, if you were unbiased; you would have noticed that Mt Calm also ran the ball their first five plays, right up the shoot and scored. Then they threw the ball their last five, scoring twice. I'm not saying Aggieland is trash, I'm just saying a coach/parent, like yourself, is obviously biased about their team, which is ok. But Mt. Calm, from someone who isn't from either school, is better. Their first game versus Bynum, I wasn't there, but seeing this coach two years at Buckholts play us, he could care less about the mercy rule. He gets a lead and tries to get all his other kids on the field. And the scrimmage, you saw every kid on his team play against Aggieland, which wouldn't necessarily be the case in a game. Like I said before, I don't have any allegiance to either school - I'm from Coolidge. I just prefer facts. And the fact was - Mt Calm 3 Aggieland 2.
