Future Changes (Suggestions Welcome) 2024-25 Edition

I've made another change to the rosters. I'm not sure why, but height/weight were required options when adding players to the roster before. I've changed that now so that the only fields required are first name, last name, jersey number, and grade. Everything else can now be left blank without getting an error.

Also, after a suggestion this week, I've added an option to submit a team's enrollment number to be viewable on each team's overview page. Because there wasn't really a way to make that information fit anywhere, I also changed the way the team/school data is displayed on those overview pages. Now all the main details are listed at the top in rows, instead of in a worded write-up. You can request edits by clicking the "Edit" button at the bottom of every team's overview page and making necessary changes in the form that displays.

Here's what it'll look like now:

Don't know if this has been added or if it can be, but what about a version of the toy where we can have a "what if" scenario? For example, Let's say Gordon who is Ranked #1 would lose by an x amount of points to Lingleville, who is ranked 197. You would be able to select 2 teams and the x amount of points won by or just a straight up win/loss and see what their new rankings would be

Probably not something that's super practical honestly. There are too many things that need to be calculated for that to be something that's just handled at-will and on the fly. In order for it to be accurate, it would have to take the score you input (and the week in which this theoretical score would take place) and calculate that, then re-calculate every prior week as well. It doesn't just take score1 and score2 and run a simple calculation. There are a lot more variables that need to be determined, and much more calculation that would have to be done. The best I could do would be to build something where you select two teams and it gives you a predicted spread if that game were to take place right now, but then you can get that easily by simply subtracting the two team's current ratings.
