I may have to go poke my nose around.

I believe pieced of these schools are still standing.
Sharp, Tx (I know they played 6 man)
Mound, Tx (near Gatesville) I know they played round ball, I’m not sure on football.
Turnerville, Tx may have something still standing.

IRELAND SCHOOL
Marker # 2651
Location: At school site, FM 932 at n city limits
City: Ireland
Marker Erected: 1986
Marker Text:
School classes were first conducted in a church tabernacle when Ireland was
founded in 1911. The town was platted on the Coryell-Hamilton County line and
named for Texas Governor John Ireland (1827-1896). A wooden frame school was
erected in 1914, and in 1921 five acres were purchased at this site for a new
two-story brick school building. Peak enrollment occurred in 1940 when thirty
students graduated. All grades were taught here until 1943 when high school
classes moved to the Jonesboro and Evant Schools. This school closed in 1964,
and the building was demolished in 1984.

I have only noticed that about a million times...and the same goes for Newspaper scores and actual game films...go check out what I wrote about games for the 1950 Hobbs team and scores...and the 1982 Lueders-Avoca scores in newspapers and scores on game films are different...one 1990 game - Trinidad v Abbott - newspaper said Trinidad scored 50 points and the the game film has 49...this is due to a kid returning a blocked PAT kick back for a TD...during the game Trinidad was only given 1 point...in the newspaper account Trinidad was given 2 points for it...

If you are just starting out researching these things...scores and stats...you will soon find sometimes finding out the real numbers is a little harder than it seems...

You know, with Granger implementing the Blog here at sixmanfootball. One of you or somebody could start a blog and turn all the permission off to it (That way know one can blogjack it). Then build a list of all the historical events you found/find and put them in chronological order. I think it would be kind of neat.

:)
