Who is #2 in D1?

I think Union Hill is the 2nd best team this year in D1 behind the best team, Gordon, to ever play high school 6-man.
When people say "best team" I wonder if they mean mean most talented or most accomplished? Many people would say Gordon is the most talented, but surely noone would claim they are most accomplished. From 1988 to 1992, the Fort Hancock Mustangs went on a remarkable 70-game winning streak. During this period, they won four consecutive state championships, part of a broader run that included five state titles between 1986 and 1991. They are undoubtley the "most accomplished" team in sixman history. Just trying to make sure we aren't prisoners of the moment...

This is about prisoners of the moment. 2nd best D1 team in 2025 to Gordon. We will never know for sure but my opinion is Union Hill. My opinion is that Gordon is the best 6-man team in the history of High School football.

The thing about the fort is there was no divisional split and was less teams due to the enrollment figures. As accomplished as they are. To be honest. In my opinion only. I think there’s others factors that will lead me to say this. Due to the growth of the sport. The knowledge of coaching. I can list many others teams aside of Gordon that would be better than the Fort. In my opinion. They do have the accomplishments that might not be matched. Kinda like Wilt Chamberlain 100 point game. But doesn’t mean they were the greatest team. I love conversations like these cause they’re just fun and healthy and just love discussing the history of the sport.
