This is why is why i hate divisions

Training equipment, technology, dieting and supplements, etc. have all came a long way since the 70’s and early 80’s. I have no idea but would speculate that very few track and field records set during that time exist today. Some sure but not many at any level. Kids are stronger, faster, the tools available are just far superior to that era. With that said I kinda doubt teams from that era would be mopping anything. Just my opinion and acknowledge you may be correct and there will probably be people backing both sides of this. Not trying to start another pissing contest but just a different perspective.

Might as well change this thread to the "Back in my day" thread
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think each division in college has just one overall champion.
You are incorrect actually. Division 1 football in college has the FBS level and FCS level. But I've never heard anyone argue that South Dakota State didn't deserve their national championship last year just because they didn't play Michigan.

Kids back in the day worked out side all summer they were in great shape. Did not keep records like they do today. If you did see them play from back then you really can’t appreciate how strong and quick they were.
