Smokey thats a good place to have the trap. Going out at night you never know what your going to run into. I wish there was a coyote hunter. Those coyotes are so smart and they can hide in that broomweed and you'd never see them. They know when something is up. We called up two coyotes with a rabbit call and missed both of them.

Is this and old wives tale if you kill a coyote and hang it on the fence will it keep other coyotes away?

LOL Smokey you make my day. I remember one time my dad killed a coyote that had killed 3 baby dairy calves. My Brother, Sister and Me had the responsibility to feed the calves. We go looking for them and it was a horrible sight. Were walking back home and we see a what we thought was a dog hanging on my dads fence. I petted the dog and cried (my thinking it was a dog). I run home and tell my mom that someone shot a dog and hung him on the fence. She explained gently that is was a coyote that killed our calves. That coyote was so pretty. His coat was thick, he was fat.

Our Coyotes in Throckmorton are all skinny and shabby. It's no wonder they're hard to shoot.

My coon a$$ relatives love squirrel. As long as I don't know what it is, they're good eating.

I've shot squirrel. Sorry, but when you're cleaning the tough hided little boogers, they look like rats with hair growing out if their tails.

That's so true OFB. Most of the Ranches had to sell,. Its sad. You raise those cattle hoping to get a nice herd and end you having to sell them because of it being dry and tanks nearly dry.

Put a cheapo Bushnell 4-12 on it. Shooting Hornady 58 grain.

That ought to make a good varmint rig. I used to have a Savage .223 bolt action with a Bushnell 3x9 on it. It was very accurate rifle. It just didn't have enough zip to reach across a cotton field and drop a coyote in one shot.

I've got a buddy that shoots hogs off his milo at night. He has some Gen 3 night vision and lasers mounted on his rifle. It takes a little getting used to, but it works well.

I need to get something with one of those big, ugly magazines sticking out the bottom of it before they outlaw them. Problem is the one I want costs $800.
