I like the 22.250. It's so smooth when you fire and doesn't have that hard kick. Smokey like you, I like to target shoot. At first it was looking down the barrel without a scope. He finally bought a scope and it was magic. Not too hard to hit the deer target where your supposed to hit a deer. I like shooting pistols. I'll pick a tree and see how many times I can hit it.

Westexas from Smokeys, Hornkeepers and Shanes opinion on the .17 I don't think you can go wrong. Being in the country I know you have tons of unwanted creatures around the house. I would buy my husband one if I hadn't already spent 2000.00 on a rifle that's still in the box under the bed. This was a situation where there was more money than brains. I'm still furious with him.

My BIL has the night vision googles but he hasn't thought about going out and shooting hogs with them. I'm not going to give DSH any idea's either. He can shoot his hogs at the tank.

Saturday it's supposed to be pouring rain. I hope DSH's rain suit camo's still fits. I bet the deer will be moving.

Westexas and Shane do you clean and cut up your deer meat or have them processed? Last two years we've used a Processing place that is also a taxidermy. They cut the meat exactly as we want it but it's expensive. We have always cleaned and cut up the deer ourselves but it's so much nicer for me to have it done. The packaging last forever.

Smokey you have fun with your new gun. Those varmints won't have nothing on you. I am seriously thinking about getting a gun like yours for my husband. Maybe he will use that one.

So far I like it fine. Went out a few minutes ago and popped a nutria in the head at about 65 yds. Nutria is a beaver without the flat tail.......

Alright Smokey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow I'm going to go to the gun store and see if they have any of the .17 guns left. I'm kind of worried because the gun stores get lots of business. Those nutria's will eat up all the fish you have in your tank. You did good and the gun proved to be one that we all need.

Now someone needs to make a gun for prehistoric yellow jackets. They are so big at the lease and when it's gets over 70 degrees they are flying everywhere. As far as the spray to kill them doesn't work that well. I need something that puts them down fast.

DSH just called and said he's hunting tomorrow and Sunday if he doesn't get anything on Saturday. Cross your fingers that he brings in a good size deer with tons of meat.

OFB that sounds like a great idea but they are swarming around the trailer. I got stung by one and never ever want that to happen anymore. I stepped on one and it stung and the stinging didn't stop. I looked at where I was stung and there was a stinger still in my foot. Had to get the tweezers and pull that booger out of my foot. It hurt like hades. Thocks yellow jackets are bigger than Ft Worths. They have more power in their stingers.

I own a handgun for my protection at home. My kids all have keys so I'm calm while waiting for one of them to come in. A few houses from us had 3 guys break into their home. Two carried out everything they had of worth and the electronics. TV, Computers and other items while one held a knife on the man's daughter. The knife was at her throat. I never plan to use that gun but if it comes down to my life or theirs, it will be theirs if I can help it. They left the home that day and sold the house.BTW the little girl was 13.

There's been tons of home invasions in the 3 blocks including our neighbor hood. The guys knock and if you don't answer they will break your door down. So I answer when they don't tell me whose at my door. I holler loud and tell whoever won't answer that 911 is on their way and to come on in, my gun is waiting on them. I got the knock one time then there wasn't anymore hard knocking on my door that night. My DSH has to work out of town so he demanded me learn to shoot the handgun. Can't think of the name but it has the red laser on it.

That's why my 13 year old daughter knows how to shoot that .38 I have in the house. Her nine year old sister can shoot it too.
