Hi, I'm one of RRCA's team captains and starting outside linebacker. We practiced hard all week in the dark and in the rain. We watched film on Veritas and studied their plays until we had them memorized. At the start of the game, we came out fired up. We stopped them on their first drive. Our kicker and starting defensive back got hurt after taking a knee to the head so we had to make adjustments. Our offensive line was making adjustments throughout the entire game. A kid had to step up and kick onsides for kickoff. After being trailing them for 3 solid quarters, we finally took the lead with about 1:30 left in the game by a fullback dive up the middle for about 25 yards. Our kicker came back in the game and kicked a PAT then went back to the sidelines again. We kicked the ball to them and held them to a third down and on the fourth down, our backup DB intercepted the ball. With ten seconds left in the game, he had secured the victory. Our offense came onto the field and did their thing until the clock ran out. Veritas is a great team and #7 is one of the best six man players I've ever had the honor of playing with, and I've had to play against both of the Achilles brothers and all of the many spreadbacks that come out of Hill Country. It was truly a great game.
