How is someone who lost to a team still ranked above them? I am new to this sight and would like to understand.

I've been watching this site for 3 years and still don't understand it either... What I do understand is that the rankings give an indication of a teams strength but don't make a hill of beans concerning seeding or determining who is the best team...that is determined by what your team does on the field and in the playoffs...

Thanks, because Gordon was ranked at least 20 above Savoy and lost, but still ranked ahead of them after the game..But I wasn't sure how the rankings were givin..Gordon must have had a harder schedule.
