I Love Obama

My grandfather taught me at an early age that the two topics that you don't bring up in mixed company is politics and religion. For one, it will ALWAYS cause an argument, and B, that argument will not be won by either side.

That being said, since I didn't bring it up, I'll put my $3.44 in. (It used to be 2 cents, but with inflation and all......)

Every president has his good qualities and his bad qualities. Roughly 50% of the population is going to disagree with most of the presidents decisions on principal. In this case, its the 50% that are Republicans. Six years ago, it was the 50% that was the Democrats. Either way, its not just the president that causes all of our problems. The congress, the Senate and the president are all pretty much jacked up. And why is that? Because of bi-partisanship. The government was set up to elect individuals to represent the people that elect them. That stopped happening a LONG time ago. They no longer listen to their people, but instead go with what they THINK their people want, sometimes. What usually happens, the elected vote the way their PARTY wants them to vote. It's a vicious cycle that doesn't appear to have an end. And it may not. As long as people vote for the party and not the individual, the cycle will continue.

Look at the Libertarian party. Yeah, they have a couple of congressmen, and I think 1 or 2 senators, but its not enough to make a difference. But if you listen to what they have to say, most people, Republican AND Democrat, agree with their way of thinking. Less government, more freedom, less spending by the government, allow free enterprise to be free enterprise, with the risk of failure or the risk of success. Let the market drive the markets, not the government, not the lobbyists, and certainly not the political influences sitting in the seat next to them. But people won't vote libertarian because they either don't know what they stand for, because they don't spend the money that the 2 primary parties do, or, they think that they are wasting a vote.

By the way, I think Obama sucks. But...... So did most of the other recent presidents.

Can we get back to discussing why Obama is probably the greatest President since JFK?
Obama is the worst president in the history of the USA.

Agree to disagree. With Harding, Hoover, Nixon, Grant, Tyler, Fillmore, Pierce, Buchanan and G.W. Bush as past presidents, Obama would barely make the top ten worst; and that depends on where Andrew Johnson and Harrison would fall.

Coach Satcher, My Dad was a yellow dog Democrat from the day he was born till the day he died. I started my life and voting career the same way. But even I know that Jimmy Carter is the worst President we have ever had and for you not to include him on your list of ten worst tells me that you are biased in your picks. Sadly, I see many of Mr. Carter's character traits in President Obama. I truly fear for our country.

LOL. Not sure exactly how I'm biased against my own political party. I'm a diehard, voting Republican. Always have been, always will be. I agree, Carter could easily be on this list; but again, I don't think he was the worst. I will always feel betrayed by George W., as I worked as a volunteer on his campaign in Palm Beach County Florida and truly believed in him. I don't feel cheated by the Party, just the individual. I'm just trying to call a spade a spade. Any self-respecting Republican, who is truly honest about polictics, can't degrade Obama without excepting the enormous flaws in Bush's presidency.

Coach Satcher, I agree with a lot you're saying. Bush Jr disappointed me in his liberalism. One thing I always felt certain about during his presidency. We had a guy in office that cared a out this country and was doing the best he could for it. I really don't have that feeling with the Swell Ole Boy occupying the White House at the moment.

I hear ya. Trust me, I'm not an Obama fan at all. Not in any way, shape, form or fasion. I also see flaws in his presidency. I just get weary when we try and compare him to failures of the past, as he has plenty of time in his term to improve or have a catastrophic fall. Time will tell. I'm just annoyed with people who hate him because he's a Democrat. If I listed my personal Top 5 Presidents of all time, I would have more than one Democrat on the list. By the way, my list would include Washington, Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Clinton. Ronald Regan would be hard to leave off this list, but I couldn't decide between him and Clinton. Clinton, while very controversial, had a very positive influence on my family, our business and my education. Teddy Roosevelt, Eisenhower and Jefferson could also be hard pressed for the list, depending on your beliefs. Just my opinion.

I may be too young to remember JFK, Roosevelt or Lincoln; but I often sit in silence when the Obama bashing starts. I didn't vote for him, either term, but sitting back and watching our country change over the past 16 years, I'm curious why or how the Democratic Party is responsible. I've been a voting Republican since I turned 18 and I supported Romney in his attempt to attain presidency. But sitting back and trying to reflect, honestly and unbiased, I asked mysef what my party has done for me. It's easy to cast a stone from afar, but what has my party done to remedy the situation besides namecall and boo? I tried to think back of the most financially stable times in my life, and it was during the Clinton Administration. I tried to think of my most unstable times and it was during the Bush Administration. I'm not saying Obama, or the Democratic Party, is the best president or Party to walk the halls of the White House. I'm just saying until we fix our own Party, it's kind of ridiculous to ridicule our opposition. It's like going 0-10 on a season and getting 45'd every game; and then saying Calvert sucks because they lost three in a row.

Clinton was riding the coat tails of the Great Place that Regan put this Country in (even the first Bush couldnt mess that up). Clinton Administration started the decline by passing laws requiring banks to make home loans to the Underqualified. This is the catalyst that started the Financial Meltdown we are currently scraping and clawing our way out of now.
I totaly agree that NEITHER party has done anything to better this Nation in eons. Partisan Politics/Politicians are creating even more havoc than a Strawn/Gordon game, just not NEAR as appealing to watch. Special interest and big corporate donors pull the strings for members of both parties (with the exception of Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and a few others).

I think President Obama is a very good president and if everyone on here were truly honest with themselves would state the real reason as to why they dislike him!

You dont understand. The old time democrats worked their butt off to earn a living. Now the society welfare sucking democrat is a burden to society. Entitlement is their middle name. Divide the USA in half from dakotas to texas. Conservatives on east , liberals on west. Where will most crime, welfare , unemployment , and bad society be ? The liberals. Liberals consume and dont really provide much benefit to society and have low morals, and are uninformed about politics. Keep on obama lover, the world needs ditch diggers and mcdonalds employees. Other than that your a dumba$$.
