Bowl Predictions

It's week 10 in NCAA so it's time for bowl predictions! Who do you think will play in the BCS Championship game??

Florida vs. Texas Tech

(thinking positively here, although my second choice is Florida vs [insert Big 12 south winner])

I think Florida will beat Alabama in the SEC Champ game (unless LSU beats Alabama first) - but unless Penn State loses, there is not much of a chance for Florida to get to the championship game. That is, of course, assuming Tech wins out.

If Tech loses and Alabama loses, it will be Florida - Penn State in the NC game.

I'm holding out for a Penn State loss to Michigan State. I think the Big 10 strength of schedule is terrible. I have nothing against JoePa - actually have a lot of respect for him and hope he finishes ahead of Bowden on career wins when it's all said and done.

I'm sure many of you may have a huge problem with this, but I don't think Penn State could go undefeated in the Mountain West. They could end up the only undefeated from a BCS conference, but how many people would pick them over UT, OU, TT, OkSt, USC, Florida or Alabama in a title game?

I actually like the scenario I read on an si.com message board.

Tech wins out and heads to title game.

UT finishes out with one loss.

Alabama loses a game before the SEC championship (not likely, but it's the SEC after all), and then beats Florida in the SEC title game.

Therefore, BCS game could be Tech/UT rematch.

Any chance this will happen?

Slim to none. The BCS pundits wouldn't allow a rematch. In that case I could see USC jumping everyone and playing for the title however unfair it would be.

i like that ibk419 but here's how i see it bama losses in the sec champ game to Florida. Then TTech losses to OU an texas goes to the big12 champ an wins an the bcs NT game will be texas an florida.
We will finally be able to settle the dispute that texas is the best football state.
I have to give props to TTech but i think Crabtree will be gone after this season he is a redshirt sophomore therefore he is eligible for the NFL draft. an i think i would take him No. 1
But if texas wins this year they would have a really good shot at a repeat with McCoy staying. Plus they have a ton of freshman talent.

I agree that Texas should be considered a #1 next year or at least top three. But, lets focus on this year. Texas has to get at least a BCS game if they end up with one loss. It will be interesting to see what happens if OU beats Tech. Whoever is ranked highest in the BCS will go to the Big 12 championship. I've noticed that UT is starting to drop with some of the BCS voters. The computers still favor Texas over OU but a big win over Tech could shake things up. Texas has to take care of business and let the chips fall. Kansas is down a bit but don't take them lightly and as bad as A&M has looked they could always be motivated to spring a Thanksgiving surprise on the horns. With Penn State losing we are at least going to avoid another plodding little 10 team getting their tails kicked in the championship.

If OU beats Tech, then this year's BCS controversy will be entirely within the Big 12. I know there's not much else that can be done, but it will be an unfortunate situation for the conference.

or if the above 3 way tie happens, and OU goes to the big 12 championship, and loses, then who goes to the title game? UT?

yes it would be texas if OU has an impressive game against TTech an moves past texas in the polls an loses then Texas would slide back past them. Keep in mind first OU has to win out then pass Texas or the horns will go to the big 12 championship game. Plus its unlikely that OU would lose if they went to the championship.
I wonder how long its been since a team that didn't win its conference champinship played for the national title? Anybody know?

I have a question.

Who gets to play A&M or Baylor in the Scrubbing Bubbles/Kohler Toilet Bowl?

How about a rematch between Colorado and A & M? That would draw at least 10 national TV viewers.
