Hey.... Hogcaller... Ive been meaning to ask you something... I remember having a discussion here while back about UT fans rooting for OU and how that is pretty disgusting for any fan from Texas to root for an Oklahoma school.... But it seems to me that there are a LOT of congratulations heading towards Norman from the Lubbock area. It seems that a lot of Tech fans were pulling for the sooners to be the ones selected to go to the Big 12 game? Not sure if you are included in this or not, or if you are hearing the same sentiments, but it has been something I have been wondering about for a while. I would figure that if TT was not included in the Big 12 championship discussion, they would have wanted a Texas team to make it..... I think I would have felt the same way if Texas wasn't being considered and I had my chose of Tech or OU so closely ranked.... just asking... thought you might have some insight on the issue. To me... instate rivals are like brothers... it's ok for me to pick on my brother, but no one else better do so.

Hard pill to swallow for the tu-ers out there, I know. But if it eases the embarrassment, by all means, bring up the last 60 years.

Here's another thought. tu isn't even the best team in the state this year. You don't deserve to play for the championship.

No one is bragging about much except the beatdown you kids took in Lubbock. Even if Tech had gone 1-11, you would still not be going to the National Championship game.

Had you just made half an effort to win that game in Lubbock - you would need neither the excuses, nor the whining.

No one is whining about Tech's loss to Norman. We are big enough to admit that we didn't do what was required of us to get to either the Big 12 Champ game, or a BCS bid.

You had it right MattC until you said the Cowboys. I guess I am the only Texan that does not think the Cowboys are the best thang since fried potatoes with onions. I am an ole' Blue Blood, so I like the Titans but I do respect them Cowboys. Tired of hearing all the crap about Tech beating the horns'. The bottom line is Tech does not no how to handle being a big boy like Texas has been for years, but this has been the best year in Lubbock in well ever I guess. Not making any excuses but Texas did have both starting corners out against Tech and lost Orakpo for the game and Miller wissed quite a bit of the game. Someone asked about the BCS contract, I don't know how long it is but ESPN is taking the contract over in 2010 and finally we get the BCS in HD. Anybody else hate the fact that in the Abilene area anyways the local channels are horrible in picture and not in HD like everywhere else all my SEC games and the Big ABC games in SD. At least FOX SW is in HD.

OK: (A) Who could have predicted, (even though it's in the tie-breaker) that step #9 would be needed to settle the Big XII South?
(B) #3 of UT Austin didn't tackle Crabtree...that's how my RR's won the game, otherwise, it was a nailbiter!
(C) UT pulled their starters against A&M and still scored...but obviously not enough TDs!
(D) All computer rankings are fantasy scenarios..(Just ask anyone from Ft.Davis. LOL!)
(E) To prove "D", Ft. Davis will win the D1 championship ranked #6, Just like #4 Florida will win the NCAA!

Seriously, there is a great article on the BCS in Thurs. Odessa American. The author states upfront: "The BCS is made for one thing; starting arguments! As long as the population is talking about NCAA D1 Football, merchandise will sell, parents will enroll their kids, and the NCAA will always be in the front of everyone's mind."

That's great marketing any Fortune 100 company or political candidate would love to achieve!

Tech needs to quit trying to make an argument for themselves. They beat Texas at home by a last second touchdown. Granted it was a good win but it's while Tech was hot. Oklahoma is on fire but the same could be said for Texas which is rediculous that Texas doesn't get the bid because they beat Oklahoma by a fair margin at a neutral site. I know it's all coaches polls and computer polls but that is obviously where it gets stupid. I'm pretty sure I would be just as happy if not happier seeing a playoff system. Finding a "True" champion.

P.S. Florida may not have beaten a top ten team but it's not their fault LSU, Georgia, and Florida State all stunk this year. They won every game by an average of 30 points. USC also could have an argument for being snubbed.
