Abbott vs Aquilla

A good old fashion rivalry. What are yalls
Thoughts on this one? , I don’t think either team has had a very tough schedule. I know what Abbott is made of. I have not
Gotten a chance to watch Aquilla this year but they must be doing something right to be undefeated.

A: I agree that this will be a great game. The place will be packed.
B: If you look at the scheduled it's probably not fair to say that Abbott hasn't played anybody. They have the 24th toughest schedule according to this site. The played Oglesby, FW CC, and Borden County, all ranked in the top 21. Aquilla on the other hand has the 60th ranked schedule. There highest ranked non-district opponent was Milford I believe.
C: Abbott takes this one in a knock down drag out brawl in Aquilla.

The main thing that sticks out for me is Aquilla allowed Coolidge to put up 28 on them .
 
I’m not sure how much stock to put into the points against theory. Some of the coaches will start pulling starters out once games gets to a certain point. So then it becomes a mute point If the “second team” is the one giving up scores. Tracking minutes played and points for and against the starting squad would be more relevant. The Gordon stat I seen on here the other day of offensive plays per game for instance is very interesting or just freaking scary really. Lol

In district play you want to win by at least 24 points in case it comes down to the point system in case of a tie between 3 teams Horse hair asked a question and I was giving him my thoughts . Sounds like he is salty about last nights election results . Good luck to both teams .

I think last year Gordon only ran 16 offensive plays against Westbrook.

Gordon leads the known world in 1 play scoring drives. Factor in a couple of defensive scores and a special team score and that stat is just plain scary for the opposition.

The starters typically play most of the 1st quarter and then a lot of 2-deep rotation players join the fracas with not much of a slowdown. The 2-deep group is on the field to close the games out at the half.
 
Abbott allowed 40 by Oglesby but the one that really catches my attention is allowing Borden Country to score 38. Sure, Abbott still won easily by 45 but sounds like their defense is suspect. Traditionally BC is a great team, one of the best. They are not that team this year, I honestly think they are and have been over-rated all season. History and tradition started their year out over ranked and has carried them. On the other hand, Aquilla hasn't played a top 50 team with their undefeated record so this one is hard. Total guess that Abbott wins by mercy rule but allows some points similar to the BC game. 86-40 Abbott

Ya I’m not too good at the pickem thing either. Thanks for noticing. lol. BC even in a down year will fight, they don’t know any different. It’s a solid program. Maybe BC is down this year and exposing both Abbott and Whiteface a little. I seriously have no idea but we are all about to find out in the next few weeks.
