6 man History

Good stuff...I wonder if because of the difficulty forming the Taylor County League, District 8, that is why the UIL has that district as not playing for 1942...wonder if it ended up being a non-official UIL district? And it appears Dowell played! Love the ARN printing the team photos...I have alot from 1939-41.

That one article about Trent winning their district...all the teams it lists that Trent beat to win district...none of them were in their district:

Buffalo, Divide, McCaulley...none of those would have been in District 8...

There should be a book from all this. lol..

Funny, I was watching the documentary "Dust Bowl" last night and it dawned on me that 6 man football started coming in to Texas the same time the farmers were changing the way they grew crops and the rains returned ...37/38. Some of the town folk that spoke in it were from Follett.

good times....good times......

I just spent over an hour typing a post with all the 1954 enrollment numbers for every team that played six-man and still does, plus the top 3 and lowest enrollments for each region...

I went to post it and was logged out so the post was lost!!!!!!

Not retyping it! But I guess the cut off for 6man was 105.

Highest enrollment Avery 104.08. Lowest enrollment Yancey 16.09.

My post was great...I am pissed now

Hey Leman, try it again. This time type it out on Word and then copy/paste into a post.....
