What are your issues?

Everything looks pretty legit to me so far

No real issues at all. And sure don't think its bs. Didn't realize it was such a sensitive issue. I just noticed they were a bit different than dctfs rankings. No complaints - just an observation.

yep, that's it, drawing names out of a hat...

it's preseason.

I.E., no toy involved. Not a computer involved records vs points scored vs points allowed/spread analysis.
Just the educated guess of a mathematician and computer programmer who developed (and continues to do so) the site and program. Let's see what his own creation thinks of his gut reaction.

It's preseason. This is just a starting point that will be figured out in November. I would rather be ranked #12 in preseason and win state, than to be ranked #1 and get bounced in the first round. There will be four or five rankings and all will be different in the beginning. Just be thankful people take the time to put something together. Thanks Granger. We enjoy seeing these.

UIL D1
1. Borden County
2. Gordon
3. Robert Lee
4. Abbott
5. Crowell

UIL D2
1. Richland Springs
2. Jonesboro
3. Calvert
4. Follett
5. Throckmorton

I love the new format. Something to read/comment on daily in a still slow part of the year.
Surprised by Valley down to 6. Excellent program, great athlete's, an experienced Coach from within the program known to the community and the players. They...Could...Go...All... The...Way.

For the most part, I like the teams listed; but don't see any way Mount Calm hasn't been mentioned yet. Haven't seen any topics on this site where they weren't mentioned as a contender, much less behind not one, but two western DII schools. I loved seeing Jonesboro getting the respect they deserve, but still can't see how MC falls this low. Love your posting this though. Havent had anything to provoke debate on here in a while.

C'mon badgercountry...Don't throw Mount Calm out there like that. We're fine. Last year we were ranked #33 in preseason and steadily climbed all year. It's not where you start. It's where you finish. Don't get all worked up over the preseason rankings. We're all undefeated right now, so we all have a chance.

to recap:

Mount Calm will end up being around a ranking of a #16. They are nowhere near a contender.

I sure hope you like the taste of crow!! Have you seen ANY game they have played in the past two years? You do not know 6-man football if this is your prediction my friend. Like I said, enjoy that crow, and I will be expecting your apologies to Mt.Calm come playoff time. I have no part in anything at Mt.Calm but I do know the coach and how far that program has come in the past two years.

Usually Im the one that looks dumb after a comment. If they ended the season ranked #13, and they bring everyone back, how would they drop to #16? They better this year than last, and they picked up Aquillas head coach as an assistant. How could they possibly even be out of the top ten unless you just hate the town or coach. Sorry coachsatcher, someone has to stick up for yo kids.

That begs a question as to what is considered a contender? I am thinking top 20 in each division maybe even top 30. This time of year I would want to consider more to be contenders than less. May has started the last two years ranked in the neighborhood of 20 and played in the state game both years.

Yes I have seen Mt. Calm play the past couple of years. Yes I saw Coach Satcher's teams at Buckholts. His teams are very good at scoring points. The problem is on the defensive side of the ball. No disrespect, that is just what I have observed. His teams like to play offense. By looking at their schedule for this year, it looks like they will go 10-0, (don't think anyone has a easier schedule) win their first playoff game, then lose in the second round. They will be one of the final 16 teams left when they lose ,that is how I got #16. If you want to say they will be #9, that is ok, #9 through #16 are all in the same place, watching #8 through #1 the following week.

Won't disagree with anything you said. My weakness in 6-man has been adjusting to the defensive side of the ball. I've never had a d-coordinator, so this year having the chance to hire Hinkson from Aquilla, we're looking forward to the defensive side of the ball being much improved.

You are a stand up guy coach. I always enjoy reading your posts and comments and wish you nothing but success this year. I understand you have a child that is having some medical problems and hope and pray all is well. You have hired a good man in Coach Hinkson who will be a great asset to your program. Good luck this year.
