Water Valley vs. Rankin Rematch

Winner gets an all-expense paid trip to Jerry's World and a probable show down with the Gordon Longhorns. The loser gets to start working on their cross-over dribble. The WV held court earlier this year with a 68-20 win over the Red Devils at home but Rankin has won 7 straight games against the likes of Garden City, Borden County, and Whiteface. Clearly, they are not slouches. The game is played in the San Angelo ISD Stadium at 5:00 on Saturday and the WV is the home team. This will be the third team that the WV has met in the playoffs after previously subjugating them in the regular season, including Hermleigh, and Robert Lee. What are your thoughts on the outcome? The WV is favored by 22 via the Huntress Toy, anyone picking the upset? According to Lone Star Football Network, Rankin has a 17 - 7 record over the Wildcats all time but the WV is 6-5 since the dawn of the new millennium. I am looking forward to this game. As they say, its harder to beat a team twice. Robert Lee prooved that point. Im expecting a bit closer game than the 45 point first matchup. However, the Wildcats are hungry for a win since they were put out in this round last yr.

Robert Lee had me a little worried Friday night. So naturally I’m a little worried about Rankin. If Water Valley will come out fired up and hungry I have no doubt they will handle the Red Devils. If Water Valley comes out flat it could be a long night.

Who exactly were yall missing?? I have watched lots of film and it appears to me everyone was there that is there now? Yall lost a player in that game that is now back which is great. He was a great player and glad he got back healthy. Just curious since this tends to be the most popular excuse when a team does seem to get beat, who was missing?

we were 100% at the time of kickoff, we got whooped.

Water Valley is a tough, quick, well executed, hard hitting, talented, and energetic team. The Cats came out swinging all season and without a doubt are a great team. The Cats have stayed relatively healthy and kept getting better as the season progressed. Robert Lee, New Castle, and Rankin are the only teams to put up over 20 points on them. WV 45’d ten opponents this year including Rankin at WV’s Homecoming. Water Valley has the talent and drive, the Coaches the Community and the Cancho Valley are busting with pride over the Cats that have been on a Rocket Ship to AT&T. On the other side of the coin you have Rankin. A shining little place in the dry lands at the edge of the Permian Basin. Rankin might just be the Rocky Balboa in this story. Rankin was finally able to get a win against Westbrook this year. But soon had two decisive losses against Borden County and WV. Followed by a dog fight in Garden City, G.C. Missing one young man for a half was left saying “What If”. Along the way sickness and injuries had the Devils saying prayers, working harder seeing boys turn into young men in different positions. When it seemed like the wheels fell off. The Coaches, the Team, and the Moms all jumped out tied a rope to the bus and drug it game by game though the playoffs. Along the way Rankin found strength, courage, and a hustle that only champions have. Like Rocky they are up early drinking raw eggs and embracing the underdog role. The Red Devils are hungry, fearless, battle tested and determined. I won’t make a prediction but if you want to see one heck of a game between two towns that are gunna play lights out football. Take your rear end to San Angelo this Friday. I love this Game!!

Langley was out and Hanna went down in that game early two major players on the team this isn’t the team yall played for homecoming it’s different their energy is different this one counts for both teams should be a good game
