whats with the machine? i was lookin and we have teams that won and covered their spread and still had a negative change in points if not a rank spot, i know it doesnt matter but it still dont seem logical

Depends on several variables. Spread being just one. Prior schedules of opponents, strength of schedules, spread covers and others ... Welcome to the "Toy" and other computer model ranking systems....
