Texas Tech

Sure, the other teams will have better stretches but its just like a casino. The house always wins. Should I go talk trash people who are losing at the blackjack tables because I decided to root for the Bellagio?[/quote]

this actually sounds like fun. we all need to do this some weekend.

It's the same way in the Temple (Ballpark in Arlington) for every big market team. I was fortunate enough to make 12 Ragers games this year. The results are the same for every popular team.

Boston Opening Day - Looks like half of Fenway showed up. Can't even celebrate opening day in our own ballpark.

NYY - I swear from home plate all the way around the left field foul pole was nothing but pinstripes and navy caps. I'd also be willing to bet, less than 2% of those people have any connection to NY.

Chicago Cubs - We won the series. But, most of the fans there were for the cubbies.

Detroit - Here's your tshirt fans. Everyone was a DET fan after they started winning.

Even Cleveland! Cleveland! Those fans are living in the early 90's with the Lofton's, Belles, Jose Mesa, early Manny, the great Carlos Baerga, and 10 cent beer night.

Things will change eventually...we're making the right steps to build a respectable organization.

i hope so. i just don't think jon daniels is a good GM. he has made some stupid moves. soriano for wilkerson? traded danks away--he was solid this year in his 1st big league year. chris young, adrian gonzalez for otska and adam eaton? i think we need a REAL gm. i want the rangers to compete. i do think the last trade, texiera to the braves was a good one. we wouldn't have signed him next year and we got the braves best 3 minor leaguers. Sac will be good.

Yeah right!! I'll believe that when I see it.

And some people think the Cubs are cursed!!

If you have ever been to a Yankees-Red Sox game in Fenway, you will know the Yankee fans show up in full force. There are so many Yankees fans in school in Boston... of course this gives the big hockey player-ushers they employ in the stands a good workout of stopping fights and throwing out idiots.

The Yankees are EVERYWHERE. I respect them, but not a fan.

Been to Fenway in 94,The Red-Sox Nation puts everything they have into it,Outside Fenway before the game,WOW!What a carnival atomsphere, bands playing, people cooking, everyone in Boston seems to know all about the Red Sox--Wonderful Fenway,I was there to watch the Bosox play the Rangers back when Jose Cansasco was a Ranger,He went "Nuts" that weekend,10 RBI with 4 HR,Guess what? People were chanting Jose-Jose,Guess what? The next year Cansasco was Red-Sock...

I have a good feeling about next years Rangers,This year the Rangers will finish in 3rd,not bad after the terriable start they had

Oh Back to Football--Check out the Mesquite Skeeter schedule,You talk of diffucult

Better watch out for Calvert!

i went to fenway last year and they are crazy about their red sox. loved the atmosphere.

as far as yankee fans everywhere, us cowboy fans are the same way. where ever the cowboys play, there are always a lot of fans there too.

Texas Tech has banned the sale of a T-shirt bearing the likeness of Michael Vick hanging the dog mascot of rival Texas A&M.

The red and black shirts, with text that says "VICK 'EM" on the front — in an apparent reference to the Aggies' slogan "Gig 'em" — was created by a Tech student who was trying to sell them before Saturday's game in Lubbock.

Tech bans T-shirts featuring Vick, A&M's dog mascot

The back of the shirt shows a football player wearing the No. 7 Vick jersey holding a rope with an image of the mascot Reveille at the end of a noose. Vick, who faces up to five years in prison after pleading guilty to a federal dogfighting charge, is suspended indefinitely by the NFL.

Tech officials announced the fraternity that sold the shirts was suspended temporarily and will face judicial review for allegedly violating the solicitation section of the students' code of conduct. The school said it wouldn't allow the sale on campus of items that are "derogatory, inflammatory, insensitive, or in such bad taste."

No more shirts are being produced, the school said in a release.

A&M officials, in a statement, thanked Tech administrators for "their response and action regarding this matter."

The creator of the shirt, Geoffrey Candia, declined to comment in an e-mail to The Associated Press on Tuesday. He said he may make a statement after meeting with the dean of students.

He told The Battalion, A&M's newspaper, for Tuesday's editions that the university prohibited sale of the shirts on campus through his fraternity. He said he originally had wanted to give 50 percent of the proceeds to an animal defense league in Lubbock "because we knew there would be a controversy about the shirts, you know, animal rights, stuff like that."

Candia told the newspaper about 300 had been sold. He had hoped 500 would be sold before Saturday's game.

Hostility between the two schools is nothing new.

In 1999, after a Tech football victory, Red Raiders fans pelted Aggies players with batteries and taunts. Tech fans tore down the goalposts and paraded them past the Aggies' bus.

In 2001, about 1,000 Tech celebrants tore down the goalposts, marched them the length of the field and pushed them into the A&M section of the stadium. Aggies threw ice and a skirmish ensued.

Then there were the tortillas. In 1992, Tech fans began tossing them like Frisbees onto the field during games. A year later, hundreds of tortillas — many carrying unprintable messages — were thrown during an A&M game.

All I have to say is WRECK'EM TECH! If the aggies want to gripe and complain and say that we are bad sports then I guess they better learn to beat us on a regular basis! They haven't won in Lubbock in 14 years and we have won 10 out of the last 12 meetings.

I was at that game in 1999 when the posts got taken down. ATM was ranked like 8 or 9 and we beat them and had a little fun. The goalposts thing was fine but I didn't agree with some of the idiots that pulled the bleachers up, that is something that pissed me off!

We don't like Aggies! Plain and simple! They back their teams and we back ours! Same way with OU and Texas! If one of these teams come into the other house it's gonna be a war! Like I said earlier, I think you really need to go to a certain college to be a real fan because you can get a real sense of what the rivalry really is!

Javorski Lane said earlier this week that he guaranteed a victory over Tech this saturday. He better make sure his defense is ready to take on about 500 yards of passing because their offense will not outscore our offense! Defense is a different story!

Did my eyes deceive me yesterday? Because it really appeared that Tech was playing defense, sorry this is just a huge shock to me. And Crabtree is the real deal, I dont care that he is in a passing prolific offense, the guy is an exceptional receiver
