Tech vs. Missouri

I just can't seem to get past how you as a Tech fan openly accept the fact that Texas, Missouri and Oklahoma are supposed to beat you. That is some attitude. Satisfied that you are going to get beat and then on the flip side want this recognition for being an elite team in the Big 12.

Read again...I said they are supposed to beat us, not that they will! We have only played one this year! For somebody who has stated that they use only accurate statements, you sure do flip things over!

And I have already acknowledged the fact that Tech is better year in and year than Baylor or Iowa State. But if you want to still keep comparing yourself to the lower end of the scale to look better, that is your privilege.

Didn't I just compare us to the rest of the Big 12? We have proven ourselves better than the other 8 teams! OSU beat us this year also but all time we are 20-11!

There is that vulgar term again. Do you mean that you think Mr. Peters was inadaquet as the quarterback of the Raiders or he was just a bad person? Being a little more punctilious might be a help in expressing your point of view and opinion.

Sorry, I didn't know you had virgin ears! Peters was terrible as a quarterback! We lost to North Texas that year....Great job Spike! I don't need an english lesson there buddy! I think everybody knows what was meant by me saying that he sucked and it was an accurate assessment of him!

I don't hate Spike Dykes. He did a decent job, but his time there was done! It was time to move on! If Dykes was such a good coach then why isn't he a head coach somewhere else? You probably think we should have kept James Dickey also!

The bottom line is that I will support the Red Raiders win or lose! You root for whoever you want....I don't care! The season isn't over yet and you are counting us out! That's fine I'll take the role of the underdog any day! I know Tech is not the best in the NCAA but we are confident in our team and know that we are capable of winning the big 12.....that's my opinion and it will stay that was until we are beaten.....but we are still in the hunt! I'm a Rangers, Cowboys, and Mavs fan......these teams haven't won a championship a while....and that's just the Cowboys! Should I quit being a fan? Hell no! I'm not going to jump on another teams bandwagon like most everybody else! I'm not even going to watch the world series cuz neither of these teams interest me! When the Mavs lost last year I didn't care to watch the rest of the playoffs! After Tech plays the rest of their season then I'm done with college football!

I'm loyal for my teams and I'll take up for them as I see fit! It's called loyalty! If I sat here and talked about your alma mater I'm sure you would take offense also! I won't stoop to that level though! 8)

Second - Third - and Fourth place are places but they are not #1. When Tech wins their 4 or 5th conference title then we can talk about their place in the league. More wins in the conference...geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzz another stat that leads to "0" in the big picture.

Don't you just love those Spike haters......

And I have already acknowledged the fact that Tech is better year in and year than Baylor or Iowa State. But if you want to still keep comparing yourself to the lower end of the scale to look better, that is your privilege.

Well, since Tech hasn't won a conference champion, then I guess they should just raze the stadium and put all of their resources into the softball program. I'm a realist. I don't have lofty expectations for Tech against the Big XII powers because 1) They can't recruit like them and 2)They can't afford their coaches. That's not to say that Tech won't beat an OU or UT once every 5 years, but I don't expect them to. Over the last couple of years, I've had to stop wishing for Tech to do something spectacular, because it's just been a series of disappointments. If that makes me a bad fan, then so be it.

I don't have virgin ears - don't especially care for that kind of descriptive term but on a more important note I believe it is just not a very good example for the younger readers and posters on this site.

Don't need to raze the stadium, I just think some people need to get reality and their expectations straight and not confuse them with their dreams. We seem to be comparing Techs aspirations with Bevo, the Okies and others who have garnered numerous titles.

As was stated money and commitment mean a lot at this level. Tech's 20-25 Blue Chip and top recruits can not compete with schools who have 35 or 40 Blue Chip and top notch kids. It's a numbers game there.

I hold no animosity toward Tech. I get amused at fans attitudes.

I don't really understand the flipping over. I just repeated and commented on what you said. If you meant it for just this year, maybe that is what you should have stated.

It is commendable that you are still are and will be a fan. Time will tell. I hope your loyalty is rewarded.

It is funny. People are kinda like microwaves. Punch the correct buttons and you sure can get them to heat up.

Oh yea ... Go Buffs

Oooooppppppppppps

7-4 looks really good right now.....

Looking more like 6-5

Another mark in the books for the "fling and flail" Tech offense.

May not be the "Splintered Tootpick Bowl" this year.

Get out them Rose Colored Glasses and get the optimism up. There is always next year.

Oh yea - Go Buffs - they won......

Since we are talking about the past.......I looked up Tech's records against other big 12 opponents. They have an all time winning record against everybody except Texas 14-41, Oklahoma 3-11, Missouri 2-4, and ATM 32-33!

not true..Tech had a TIED record of 4-4 with CU until yesterday - what fun to sit in the CU section and watch the game, as now Tech has a losing record against CU: 4-5. ... Tech's band was fun to watch though. I'm excited, CU is one win away from being bowl eligible again - looks like Hawkins is leading the program the right direction again!

Well, there goes my argument! I think my TV got hit with about everything in the house or that was handy anyway! Oh well! Fun while it lasted!

As for you justobserving.......it was fun to finally have someone who is worth arguing with and did make some valid points and not just garbage like some of the others. Maybe we'll lock up again!

Enjoyed the joust.

I hate it for Tech ... but what is sad is that it seems inevitable every year that the bubble is gonna develope a leak. Never really bursts - just deflates and takes the faithful of the Raider Nation with them.
