Sixman trivia

The topic of a girl playing sixman. Are we looking for someone 40+ years ago? More recently Hermleigh had a girl playing and maybe starting. This was 02 or 03.

Blue Bird - She played within the last 15 years...her photo and team photo are on display at the Bob Bullock Museum in Austin in the football exhibit

I've searched the internet for a day now and can't find anything on the Female Player.

There is a site out there for the History of Female HS Players and shes not on it:)

Hint - She went to school at Veribest...

Hey, I just saw her picture at the Museum in Austin ... Amanda Heath, Veribest (1997). According to the exhibit, Frankie Groves of Stinnett played football in 1948; UIL passed a rule forbiding girls to play football which held until 1993.

Does anyone know the 8Man years 195?, I know 1958 was one of them.

Buckholts lost to Pflugerville 74-0 that year.

1958-1975

The district with Pflugerville played a 8 man district schedule in 1957 as a UIL sanctioned demo, but went back to 6 man for the playoffs. Liberty Hill and someone played an inpromptu 8 man game in 1956 when injuries left Liberty Hill without enough players to play 11 man.

That's it. I think I saw the article about her when I was digging for Groom's scores.

Name the current 6 man schools who have never played 8 or 11 man football.
I think Aquilla, Bynum, & Penelope have played only sixman.

I think Bynum did time in 11 man. Lonestar is down so I can't check.

Just got in enough to check. Bynum started out in 11 man in 1950 and played 11 man all through the 60's and 70's. They went 6 man in 1980.

lifegate wins the prize...sort of...Amanda Heathcott, Veribest, 1996 and 1997 football seasons. She helped Veribest start up a football program.

Frankie Grove of Stinnett also played and is in the exhibit but did not play six-man

So back to OBK's question: We have so far:

Veribest, Bloomburg, Panther Creek, Aquilla, Penelope

Are those correct so far OBK?

I'm sure there are more

I checked nearly every year of records for Blum (lonestarfootball) & I couldn't find a time they played anything other than six-man.
