I'm a frequent lurker, rare poster. So, I hope what I have to say is worthwhile. These personal attacks and this Lifegate/Brenham/Tyler Street talk.....can I bore you with 2 quick stories to make my point?
1. At practice today, somebody said something about Homecoming and I said "When's homecoming?", and someone said "Uhh, its next week coach." And I say, "Oh, duh, who do we play?" And I got 2 different answers, one said Believers and the other said Geneva. Seriously, this happened at water break. Between the 3 of us we barely knew when homecoming was and who we were playing. Coach Rabon probably thinks I'm an ADD-afflicted idiot, which is why I have such a large salary (a Tapps card). We've got Town East this week. Big rivalry, huge game for us. Ya think we're worrying too much about what's going to happen in late November? Man, we're worried about fixing our snaps and getting these injuries healed (how exactly do you break your hand and two fingers on an onside kick that went about 9 yards????).
2. My wife takes about 1000-1500 photos at every Lifegate event. I think one of my very favorites from last year is a series of photos at the regional track meet and its of our guys and the Brenham guys sitting on the benches laughing and joking when they should have been warming up. Tried for an hour to post it here. ADD kicked in, gave up. And there's a great shot of Matt and Dillon in one of those awkward adolescent athlete guy hugs after the race. Yeah, they'll try to jack each other if we play, but what I love about this game, this division, these 2 schools, these kids, is that they like each other, they respect each other and they don't run smack on each other. And neither should we.
We all have quoted the 'press toward the goal' verse from Phil 3, but the next line says "therefore let us, AS MANY AS ARE MATURE...let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind." The kids hear what we say, they read what we write. I hope our sons become better men than we, but I sure hope they're not there already.

No disrespect Clairatte, but you did bore me because I don't know what you are talking about. Now I do know a lot of times I don't know whit Im talking are writhing about. This all started with Rumor of a good game and it was a good game .It has progress to who is going to win D2 you can't talk about that unless you menton Tyler St. breham and Lifegate. Im sure that there are other teams out there that may win it. I think we have all talked about you have to play the game. I think Imention on another post that I posted on the wrong thread, if we can't talk about who is going to win it all they should not have rankings untill the last two games of the regular season , hey Vages startes taking bets on who will win the supper bowl way before the seasons starts. Once again I stand by what I think will happen Brenham wins it all if they don't close their doors before Dec. If they do It looks like Lifegate Tyler St or some other school .My the way if I ever ran down any young person Im sorry, the game is for young people. The fans and the rest of us are just there to enjoy it.

Coach Clairatte, I would like to thank you for giving your time to help young people. Small Christian schools would have a difficult time fielding teams.

I have seen brenham play twice this year i think they will win state... they better do it this year bc next year I dont see them going as far... they have 7 to 8 players that actually play 6 to 7 of them are seniors and are all fast. they only lost a couple players last yr so its pretty much the same team just with a new QB which is really fast.

Anyway back to the subject, i feel like brenham is solid ball club, but i wouldn't pick them to win it all just yet..still alot of ball games left to play before i am willing to make that decision. Freddy may not be as good in years past, but they always get going come playoff time and are well-disciplined. That is a huge deal, especially with sixman refs.

Who do you think canstop Tyler St. on their side of the bracket if they win Dist. I feel that Fulton if they play their best could beat them in Distric. Now 6th week grades are coming up this is a big factor for some players and coaches if anyone fails. Grades are a bigger killer in 6th men then 11 men. 1 or 2 good players can make a big difference if they fail. I think I may have mention this in another thread, Tyler St's stock whent up big time with me when they beat Avalon, and Avalon beat Greenville. I still believe in Breham, I have seen them play twice in the last two years, and very few teams come more prepared to play like they do. Their coach to me is just outstanding getting a game plan together. Im wearing this out, so this is my last post on this thread.

Freddy is 2-2; saw them play Saturday against Believers (they won 38-25; it was 26-25 midway through the third).
They had some tough nondistrict games (Central Texas, FEAST and Marble Falls).
It is not the Freddy team of old, but it is a much wiser squad than last year. With a number of new teams in district, their experience will earn them some wins and they'll be either #2 or #3 in our district. With a couple exceptions, everyone in District 3 spends the rest of the season beating up each other.
Season ends with Freddy at Lifegate on Nov. 5th.

Just to clear up some fog..
1. Lifegatesports is NOT a seguin homer.... (i am)... haha if you ever got on this site last year he was all about fredricksburg... haha he actually caught a bunch of trash talking from us about that.. his opinion is his own and even this year he has predicted we would not 45 two of the teams we played..(which we did) haha the only time i've heard him think we were going to 45 anybody was new life... and they lost 1-0... haha
2. Clairatt was talking about Lifegate and Brenham players getting along outside of football... we've had the pleasure of meeting these fine young men on and off the field and could not think more of them... our guys love listening to stupid songs after a win... after we lost to Brenham last year we heard "WHAT IS LOVE" playing from their locker room... My guys knew then that they lost to a team just like themselves and have got along with their players great ever since... haha another thing he was saying is our guys don't even think two weeks ahead much less to the state semifinals (not like us coaches looked at the brackette or anything)... they worry about who steps in front of them Friday night... they know if they do their job, the opposing team name doesn't matter... and then there is the mature adult part... he's explaining that from an outsiders perspective, we rant like teenagers sometimes..
