Cowboy I think a better way of saying it would be, I hope someone steps up and beats a very good RS team, not hope they lose. Hell, topher wants them to lose 3 or 4 games in district, now thats just pure jealousy..

Not even close! I like to see barn burner games. The team that goes home with the trophy needs to work their tails off to earn it.Johnny South":304pzlg6 said:And by the way, I can't believe, you and Topher80 are actually wanting someone to lose. I thought you wanted everyone to be a winner and take home a trophy!

I would disagree, 100%!!!!! Being the reigning state champion does not automatically make you #1. It's a new year, roughly 1/4 of your team is replaced with kids 5 years younger on an annual basis. Will RS be good? yes. Will they win district? probably. Will they win state? who knows? I don't think so, but I wouldn't be the first person to think that and be wrong. I will post my rankings soon and I won't have RS at #1. Not saying they can't get there, but right now, from my perspective, they are not the #1 team.topher80":r966hf6l said:Uhm, westtexasflats... I gave you the reasons why I had no cause to be jealous and that is your rejoinder? Fair enough.
Back on topic, if I were doing the rankings I'd put RS at #1 because to do otherwise would be unjust. We'll see if someone dethrones the king or if once again everyone is playing for second place.

Much better, I know RS will eventually lose I will be one of the first to congratulate the team thats wins. Lets all remember these are our kids playing for fun not a million dollars. Our recruiting has been a little slow this year, but we did land a couple of hosses, so who knows. Got the kids parents jobs they couldnt refuse at the Duck......CowboyP":p5gjcrk9 said:Flats, you are correct. I should have worded it differently. I hope someone beats a strong RS team by working their tails off to earn the win.
Better?

Are you serious? That's an excuse to justify some wanting to see RS come down a notch or two. If a coach or parent is doing it right, they are teaching their kids to strive for the very excellence that the RS program is. Win or lose if you happen to meet them.

The topic of wondering who will dethrone the champs is all well and good, but to say that another team needs to win it or else ruin the sport, is absurd. And if you disagree with me, please provide an example of a dynasty that ruined a sport (European soccer leagues don't count, and you should lose your man-card for even mentioning that).
