New District Allignments

I can't wait to see who will be in the district with Zephyr next year. Just hope it's not one of those years when the UIL makes the district games an all day journey to get to.

Heard all sorts of guesses and rumors, but I do know that Blanket will not be a part of the new district as they will be going division 2. I think Zephyr will end up in a completly different district.

The best scinerio I've heard the most was Zephyr, Gustine, Lometa, and Evant. The worst scinerio would be the first four plus Prairie Lea and maybe Buckholts.

Either way, Zephyr should take 1st in district.

I think they will be 1st too, but it won't be easy, Gustine and Zephyr is like Alabama and Auburn, ether team could be terrible but when they play against each other they go all out, also Zephyr/Lometa game was a battle, and Buckholts is salty themselves, would be a very interesting district.

No offense to any of the teams, especially Lometa. In fact, I pull for the hornets almost as much as I pull for Aquilla. I just think zephyr will be a top-tier team next season.

If I remember right (and I do, 'cause I saw the exhibit at the Bullock museum with the maps), UIL uses push pins and rubber bands to identify districts, so hopefully there is some method to the madness. But remember, sometimes it just doesn't work out and there's a trip that you didn't expect.

I also remember reading an article several years back on why they still rely on this hands-on method rather than computer projections -- seems everytime they run an alignment for 5A, Del Rio (which is about 150 miles from San Antonio, 60 miles from Eagle Pass and about 180 miles to Laredo) kept getting aligned with San Angelo (160 miles), Odessa (250 miles), and Abilene (250 miles).

Well Zephyr beat Gustine by 25 or more this year, beat Lometa with 2 starters out with injuries, and beat a good May team by 20+ that beat Lometa convincingly and put 36 points on the state champ Throck. I think they have a good chance to make some noise next season given they stay healthy.

I thought it was the crack addled drunk monkey kept in the padded room next to Cowboy's off in Big Spring?

OBK, I didn't say WHO did it, I just said HOW they did it.

That monkey has been worse than normal lately. It wouldn't surprise me for high island to be in the same district as valley....
