This has been an 8 year process of getting Uil to change their NFHS form that has JH track recommendations for reducing the event distance or implement sizing. The form has modified changes to account for youth development except for the distance between the hurdles. We are making very positive headway and I’m currently working along side with UIL to bring forth the recommendations to NFHS.
If you want to get started prior to the form being changed. Nothing prevents JH from making any changes they see fit. In fact most schoools who consistently have hurdlers st the State track meet have been doing this for years.
However if you elect for jh district track meet to be run at reduced distances snd heights. Let them know soon as possible. So they can practice accordingly.
