I think I iz a lil skeered

Goob

Six-man fan
Yew knowd, I don't knowd much bout all the Lord's teams and here we iz playin' the first of three thiz year and so I done went lookin' round on the internet and thiz iz whut I done found on them Austin Hill Country fellers' website:

The Hill Country Knights football program offers teams at the 5th- 12th grade levels. We are a TAPPS Division 1 state power in six man football. The Varsity Knights reached the state semi-finals in 2005, the regional finals three other years, and won multiple district championships. Our offense is famous statewide for its "Hill Country Spread." The Knights are coached by Varsity Head Coach Philip Hudgens, who has been called, "One of the premiere offensive minds in the state of Texas for six man football" and has coached in the TAPPS state all-star game multiple times. Our 5th and 6th grade flag football program won the ACAA championship its inaugural 2010 season.

I think I iz a lil skeered. Duz any of yew knowd anythang bout these fellers? I wud like to knowd whut Richland iz up gainst thiz week. I mean words and phrases like, "power" and "famous" and "premiere offensive minds" can make a feller a lil worried. Plus they done beat a good Avalon team.

Hey Goob, I bet it is dang near impossible for them to schedule non-conference games .... who in the world in their right mind would go against that coach, that program, that offense and a higher power knowingly.

Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz !!

I gathered though they have lost a game in their history .....

Goob ... don't youse worry toose much. Dem Richland boys have did a decent job of scaring them Austin boys for years ... I member when you beat the Regents boys (three time TAPPS state champs) so bad you scared them into playin' 11 man ball.

Hill Country is a good private school team. But if you're playin' the top tier of UIL schools, well, the church kids are gonna get skooled.

I remember when Brother Jerry called us up once askin' if we could fill an open date in their skedual. Even offered to give us $500 and a meal for the deal. We figured out that it wouldn't cover the deductible on the medical bills afterwards ...

Dear lifer,

Yew shud have done come on and played. It wud have been worth jest fer the meal.

But seriously, I think Richland has done got thare hands full thiz week. Them Hill Country fellers iz pretty good.

Is it true that
them Hill Country fellers
take that spread and rub it all over
makin' them harder to get aholt of?
Just askin'.

Another reason why Richland Springs is successful ... the fans, players and coaches don't take anyone for granted.

I remember a couple years ago, Jerry Burkhart calls me up asking for a scouting report on some church skool he got on the schedule (probably because he couldn't find a public school willing to play them). I knew that if Jerry and the boys took the week off, ate their fill of ice cream every day, and slept till noon, showed up at the game five minutes before kickoff and didn't warm up, they'd still 45' that school by halftime. I didn't have any info on the squad, but hey, he's making the calls and trying to find out everything he can BEFORE the game.

What do they say in the NFL ... Any given Sunday?

Well, them fellers wuz and iz good. My hat iz off to them. Pretty quick and tuff across the board. Best thang bout them though iz the fact that ever time I done thought they wuz bout to fold thare tent, here they done come again. Not quittin' iz a big deal, it serves yew well on down the line.

I was shocked at the score. Not shocked that the baloney eaters won, but that one of God's schools made them play 4 quarters.
I had the same reaction. Anyone making RS play a full game deserves respect.

Interesting facts from the game. Hill Country led after the first quarter 16-0. It appeared number 12, a usual starter, was on the sidelines for Hill Country. Hill Country had 4 turnovers - 3 in the red zone. It was a closer game than just looking at the final score. Richland seemed to be making more adjustments - perhaps due to the sheer number of coaches, headsets, etc. Hats off to Richland - a true power, and to Hill Country for traveling and making a very good showing.

Number 12 for Richland or Hill country?

Dear rainfeller,

Well, let me shock yew jest a lil more. After seein' Valley at Hico and theze fellers last nite, it wud be a tossup tween Valley and Hill Country. In fact, I mite give the edge to Hill Country.

Well, that iz pretty weak. I wud expect better from yew. Guess thare ain't no family illness to hide behind thiz week.

Ok, git ready fer "preecher" comments and "man" of stature comments cuz thiz boy can't compete. The pantload of the panhandle iz a preteender, plain and simple.

Never hid from an illness. Had I been trying to dodge your blanks, I would have included it in an existing thread. But if you'll notie - I started a completely separate thread about it.

But that's an easy straw man that even you should be above. I guess I overestimated yet again.
