I think there's still a few weeks until things usually start picking up, as far as hirings go. I'd expect to start hearing about more positions coming up in February and into March.

I've resigned from Azle Christian School as the Athletic Director / Head Football Coach. The lead pastor, Chad Geeslin, will resume the Head Coaching duties for this upcoming season. I don't know their plans on the AD side of it. God Bless!

Ira is open, Coach Goodwin has retired after 28 years. Winningest coach in 2 sports for the Bulldogs, has created a tradition like no other.

...and all I'm wondering about is if anyone is gonna finally hire @TheWesp and all his expertise. He's been a mentor for all these other coaches for long enough!

11 man game is booming with changes!

Not really odd, it's been said multiple times, some coaches retire or leave so there will be immediate openings. Then you have to wait for renewals or non renewals. Each school is different regarding that. And last, some coaches make a change to a potential better situation or location family wise, and then all of a sudden you have more coaching openings. These schools historically have promoted someone within, or they will try and find a new coaching staff. It takes time

11 man head coaches are usually coordinators or AD's as well with no classroom responsibilities, so when leaving or taking on a new role, there's more to the athletic programs that they have to leave or take over. With 6 man, most head coaches, they're also classroom teachers or have other responsibilities that can't be dropped or picked up immediately.
