Coaching Carousel 2025

I would suggest two reasons. Grady has fairly new facilities and they pay quite a lot more than Zephyr. Jeremy is getting to the age that he needs to look for his best five years of pay before his retirement.

I would think so. I would think those schools in west Texas pay pretty much the same. I saw an advertisement for teacher/coaches that start at 14000 above state base, then they start adding on your coaching responsibilities. Free or very low rent housing. You add in most of your insurance being paid, a retirement being added to. It really does start to add up.

Bronte is now open as well

Yeah I personally know someone who just took a regular teaching job at Grady. 200 a month for rent in an almost brand new house, nothing is older than 8 or so years around the school, installing a brand new field this summer, and the pay and benefits far outpace every other small school around. And they have money to burn. If the head man is who the rumors say it is, they ought to get pretty competitive pretty quick.

Shawn Rogers to Grady
RS school board had a quiet takeover by some nuts with a radical agenda. They hired a superintendent who, as one source said, was paid or promised a large sum by an individual or group, to completely dismantle the RS athletic program.
Shawn was his first victim.
Shawn Rogers is a good man and a great coach.
