Thank you! No, it does not seem most people understand this. Though there is not a contract, per say, there is a gentleman's agreement to play both ends (home and away) of the two year schedule, unless by chance the other side is willing to let you out...and that can be uncommon because that other team might not 1) be willing to give up a home game; 2) be able to find another team to replace you on the schedule.I don't think most people on this page understand football scheduling. You don't just put your list of favorite teams down and see who will play. You have to think of Travel distance, Week needs matching up, and Home/Away agreements. I can tell you that if I schedule a coach once, and I drive to him in year 1 and he cancels in Year 2, Every coach that asks me about them is gonna hear unless its mutual. This leaves you in crappy situations where in year one I have 5 Home and 5 Away with the agreement we flip next year. Then 3 teams cancel on you and you have to agree to 3 away games to fill a schedule. Then you have a year where the kids get to play in front of their home crowd 2 times all year.
As far as Benjamin goes, I see a team who in 3 of their 5 Non District games played top 30 teams Bringing in teams from as far as 4 Hrs away. When you remove Benjamin, the 4 top 30s they've already scheduled, private schools(A lot of publics don't play privates), and the teams in their district. There are about 20 Top 30 teams remaining. Some of those are 5 hrs plus away so more like 15. Then you need one of those 15 to have that week open and not fill it with another top 30 team. Id say Benjamin getting 3 top 30s to start the year is pretty impressive. Several teams end up in this situation. Nothing against these teams, scheduling is hard and sometimes teams are worse than you thought and you also have rivalries to consider.
Non-District Games for these teams
#3 Benjamin- 29,30,23,213,182,83 Top 50 Opponents 3/100+ Opponents 2/AVG 93.33
#4 Gordon- 63,41,62,136,172,142 Top 50 Opponents 1/100+ Opponents 3/AVG 102.66
#5 Jayton- 41,14,33,68,39,113 Top 50 Opponents 3/100+ Opponents 1/AVG 51.33
#6 Abbott- 43,10,129,54,138,45 Top 50 Opponents 3/100+ Opponents 2/AVG 69.83
#7 Whiteface- 35,99,34,244,196,117,20 Top 50 Opponents 3/100+ Opponents 3/AVG 106.43
#9 May- 78,122,1,41,66,28 Top 50 Opponents 3/100+ Opponents 1/AVG 56
#10 FWCC-120,6,65,74 Top 50 Opponents 1/100+ Opponents 1/AVG 66.25
If you replace Guthrie and Roby with Southland(126) and Morgan(128), Benjamin has a comparable schedule to every other team on this list. Adding two top 30 teams to their schedule like Rochelle and Hermleigh would put them at Top 50 Opponents 5/100+ Opponents 0/AVG 34
Giving them the best schedule in all of Six Man Football. Beating out even these two.
#1 Westbrook 1,11,8,113,41 Top 50 Opponents 4/100+ Opponents 1/AVG 34.8
#2 Knox City 2,67,9,8,27,71,150 Top 50 Opponents 4/100+ Opponents 1/AVG 47.71
#8 Rankin 47,26,2,1,48,102 Top 50 Opponents 5/100+ Opponents 1/AVG 37.67
next week Knox City “#1” in Division 1 takes on Crowell, that game won’t go how you D1Gurus think.
Watch and see the game Crowell gives “top dog” Knox City, I see Crowell taking it. Maybe I will finally be wrong about something. Doubtful.
Crowell was very unimpressive, the hype around them and the numbers they’ve put up against undoubtedly weak opponents will subside now, the opposition was just way weaker than anticipated.Nailed it!
You didn't already know that? You sounded pretty confident in your predictions there. Everyone else knew this would happen. Maybe a little wishful thinking coming through? You let your bias cloud your judgement.Crowell was very unimpressive, the hype around them and the numbers they’ve put up against undoubtedly weak opponents will subside now, the opposition was just way weaker than anticipated.

Knox city still has a long schedule ahead of them, I wouldn’t get carried away just yetKnox City possibly the best sixman team this year period, so no D2 team can hang with them including Benjamin. Jayton appears to be the measuring stick in D2 but anything can happen.
This won't age well......trust me.Knox City possibly the best sixman team this year period, so no D2 team can hang with them including Benjamin. Jayton appears to be the measuring stick in D2 but anything can happen.
I don’t guess strength of schedule matters before we make a statement such as that? I guess we will see when the playoffs start.Knox city still has a long schedule ahead of them, I wouldn’t get carried away just yet
No trust me it doesn’t, we play the toughest schedule every year and have won state the last two seasons and nobody cares about it until the whistle blows at cowboy stadium.I don’t guess strength of schedule matters before we make a statement such as that? Didn't knox city beat Westbrook? Will there be a re-match? I think so and I think it will be a good one again. No trust me it doesn’t, we play the toughest schedule every year and have won state the last two seasons and nobody cares about it until the whistle blows at cowboy stadium.
Is there a difference between the numbers Crowell put up against weak opponents (your words) and the numbers Benjamin has put up against weak opponents ( my words) ?Crowell was very unimpressive, the hype around them and the numbers they’ve put up against undoubtedly weak opponents will subside now, the opposition was just way weaker than anticipated.
it’s already been proven Benjamin’s schedule is the same as everyone’s else’s. Did you miss that conversation. Everyone compared to Benjamin is weak imo.Is there a difference between the numbers Crowell put up against weak opponents (your words) and the numbers Benjamin has put up against weak opponents ( my words) ?
Possible they do but you never know, Garden City beat Westbrook during the season last year as well….. so again nobody cares until the lights shut off at cowboy stadium. I simply said they have a long ways to go as in “months” to prove they are the best team in the state. If you want to talk about what happened weeks ago then explain how Westbrook held Rankin to -26 yards rushing and -5 total yards and beat them 52-0 at the half and Knox City gave up 180+ and 4tds to one kid from Rankin and gave up over 30+ points if previous weeks matter so much.Didn't knox city beat Westbrook? Will there be a re-match? I think so and I think it will be a good one again.
It was proven by the numbers that were posted that Benjamin's average opponent ranking was 93.33.it’s already been proven Benjamin’s schedule is the same as everyone’s else’s. Did you miss that conversation. Everyone compared to Benjamin is weak imo.
that’s exactly what I read as well, all someone said was if you replace some teams on their schedule and added a few different ones it would compare lol …. That’s not the sameIt was proven by the numbers that were posted that Benjamin's average opponent ranking was 93.33.
Only 2 of the 9 other teams mentioned in that post had a worse average opponent ranking.
So No....Benjamin's schedule is not the same as everyone else's.
No “lol” it was stated the coaching staff at Benjamin has not been there long enough to manipulate or change the schedule. It’s honestly laughable that you guys can’t comprehend that. What you said wildcats, it doesn’t matter until the lights shut off at cowboy stadium. Every team on the way there that plays Benjamin will be mercy ruled. there isn’t competition that can compare to the athleticism, don’t believe it come watch. Goodnight you unbiased completely logical good people.that’s exactly what I read as well, all someone said was if you replace some teams on their schedule and added a few different ones it would compare lol …. That’s not the same
