85-0

It just takes 2 studs and 4 wimps to beat 1 stud and 5 wimps. But the more kids there are to pick from, the more likely you are to get another stud!
Most 6A schools can't compete with Allen just because of the numbers. And a school with 30 kids in high school is more than likely not going to be very competitive with the high school with 100.
I certainly did not like the idea when the Benjamin Supt. was lobbying for the split. But now I think that it is a good idea. Just for the kids sake. The more that the kids get to be involved in the game, the more life lessons that they learn. IMO

Back when I played, our team was 8-2. We finished 3rd in our district. Did not make playoffs. Beat a team 55-0 in non district. They had negative 180 yards total. Never crossed the 50 even. That team went 3-7 and won their district and made playoffs. Got beat by our 2nd place team 71-0 in the 1st round. We lost 20-0 to that same 2nd place team. So it doesn't matter how many go to playoffs, losing record teams happen all the time. Waco Live Oak won state last year. Started 0-6. Finished 8-6. They were mercy ruled 3 of the 6 losses. They won their district, but by this whole blowouts mean you don't deserve playoffs crap, they should not have made playoffs, yet they won state.... It is not "everyone gets a trophy" it is "hey we realize good teams have off weeks, lets expand playoffs so they don't get screwed like NCAA." The creme rises to the top and the State Champs win no matter what. Who cares who else gets in the playoffs...

Maybe it’s more about developing what you have into studs. I doubt Strawn and Richland and Follett and Abbott, etc etc, just keeps getting lucky with talent being born into their towns. They all have good programs and have a hard work attitude that turns em into studs. IMO

Look at the weekly spread for the first round. Division 2 there is 13 games out of 16 that the prediction is a shutout and one game is 44pt spread another at 17pt spread and a 2pt spread not very many competitive games. Division 1 is a little more competitive by the point spread. If these Division were combined into one playoff these would make for better playoff games

No every team would still be in that is in. They would have 64 teams just like every other classification has. So the same matchups would be happening... They would make bigger districts and put 4 teams from each district in the playoffs instead of the current 2.

Mex Eng-, If you are old enough to remember, back when there was just one Six-man division, the upper limit cutoff was a good bit lower. Since then the UIL has raised the upper enrollment number a time or two , for the D1 division. Now the upper echelon schools are larger than they used to be. Which would make for much more inequality if there were only one Division. And, there are many more schools playing than there were back then.

Tioga went 1-9, made the playoffs in 11 man, and the list I'm sure goes on. Happens.
