What's With God's Schools??

i wasted 30 minutes reading these post. rain jack you are a idiot a fool and all of the above. first off where are you getting your info? none of your arguements are valid. lets go to the 11 man game their are VERY good private school teams that can take on the likes of katy, obviously not alot because there are not alot of private schools that have those kind of enrollment numbers so most privates play 6man. and for you to say theres a difference between div 1 and 2? you are an idiot! for example in 5a tHere have been SEVERAL years where the d2 state champs are better then D1 and overall better teams in d2. and if you want to take it a step further. there really is no difference between 4 and 5a, lake travis angelton, dawson, all 4a division 2 schools and plenty of others dominate top 5a schools yearly. and if you want to take this one more step farther private schools absolutly dominate the public schools on a national level. what seperates the private schools is its hard to build and mantain a program as to public schools they have the same kids for four years, but on any given year any private school can come out and of nowhere and destroy anyone. and not many publics can keep up with rs and thork so what does that make them? i went to a public school so no im not affilliated with any privates.
Do you always ramble? I had to read your post 3 times to understand it. If you don't mind, please try to collect your thoughts and try again.

That was the point. I was addressing several things from earlier that rainjack said. It don't really feel like rambling more to explain but someone will get what I'm saying...maybe

Heck, just try using paragraphs, and proper punctuation. You wanna call me names? At least do it where I can enjoy it. I take the time to space out my ramblings where they are easy for you to read. Why can't you do the same?

I have to agree. Rainjack rambles (he forgot to add irritates & antagonizes) but at least his B.S. is readable!

i think that the private schools should be able recruit a very good team especially where there are large numbers to pick from. there area lot of athletes that don’t fit in 11 man that can be great in 6-man.... i.e. speed kills in 6man
Heck it happens in public schools too.. Ask a few that can barely hang on without outside recruits Cherokee, Highland to name two. Its not their fault it is where small towns in Texas are headed if we don’t find a way to survive

If I could make a point on this topic before it got out of hand with the childish bashing of one another, I used to agree with the idea that privates were below public, but I feel compelled to give my opinion. This is my first year in a private school setting and I have found that with my knowledge of six man and my commitment to to the sport itself, in many schools, yes, the level of competition is lower than public. But from what Ive seen is that there are good athletes, but the problem is with coaching. A lot of privates (not all) will hire guys that know nothing about the game. They tend to try and run offenses based off of 11 man playbooks "ripped in half" they have said. I've seen coaches try and run flag football spread with 5 on the line keeping the QB from being live. Honestly, you have to examine the coaches who are running these squads that aren't up to par. Personally, the group I have right now are talented and want to compete. But having to un-teach bad habits on and off the field is a frustrating thing. When I took the job I had the same mentality, but I can honestly say this is one of the most talented groups I've ever had. Im very happy with my boys.

All,

Right now I am sitting here in a remote area of Afghanistan reading this post. I coach at Hill Country, and this website is one of the ways I keep in touch and up to date with how my boys are doing, and the other schools in Six Man (Both public and private - Thanks Granger). I agree with rainjax premise that Public Schools are generally better equipped with coaching and athletes to be better on most occasions when playing Private Schools, however, I feel the Private Schools have made some strides in this area over the past few years.

Regardless of what you think about the Hill Country v. Richland Springs game, I know my boys were happy to compete with a top tier program and really enjoyed the fellowship with Coach Burkhart's team. It's all about opprortunities and whether or not you take advantage of those opportunities. You see it at any level of sports, a lower tier team comes up to bite a big program every once and a while. But the reality is, there are divisions for a reason, whether you like it or not, and we just appreciate the opportunity to play and fellowship with the Public Schools and learn from the outcomes. It makes us a BETTER program all the way around.

About the TOPIC of this thread, "What's with God's Schools??" I saw someway say aren't we all God's schools, to which rainjax replied, no, they're government programs. Well, I was born and raised in New Hampshire, and have been teaching and coaching here in Texas for the past 14 years. I have yet to see a state, and I have been to all 48 contingent states, that has as much pride in their people, culture and history as Texas. I always here the term "God Bless Texas", and it's quite a unique and amazing state to live it. I truly love Six-man football, and I am very blessed to be a part of it. I am also richly blessed to have the opportunity to bring my kids up in the great state of Texas and the opportunities they will have because of it.

I have met some great coaches in both the Public and Private sectors, and coach under and outstanding coach in Coach Hudgens. I have experienced more of the Texas culture through Six-man football than I would have with any other job in Texas. I make it a point with my middle school program to schedule an overnight fellowship game with a public school every year. This year we spent the night in Trindad and had some awesome fellowship with their families, coaches and players (at least this is what was communicated to me over here in Afghanistan). Whether or not Private schools will ever be on the same level as Public schools is not really my concern, but developing solid relationships between the two is.

I know this is a bunch of rambling, and excuse me for it, but I love this community and am very blessed to be a part of it. As a Private school coach, we will continue to compete with Public schools and will win some and lose some, but ultimately, if we do things right, we will build some strong relationships for years to come.

GOD BLESS SIX MAN FOOTBALL and GOD BLESS TEXAS!!!

Now we know why Goob was so scared of Hill Country. They're being trained by Navy SEALs.
Even with full SEAL training Hill Country wouldn't have beaten RS.
(the devil made me say it)

Yeah, but if they're pissed about losing, three of them could kill the whole team and most of the people in town with their bare hands.

If they did that they would have to start playing for the East Texas Public Christian School for Criminally Insane Teens. :)
