Pearl looks like the nutria hunt wasn't enough. She's ready for a bigger challenge.
She's been chasing a fox for a few nights. Ran it through our front yard.......

Our mutt loves to chase critters. He protects us from those vicious deer, squirrels, and rabbits.

LOL you guys are crazy. None of you better be drinking my tea cause the po-lice will be hiding waiting to catch you driving. I've missed you guys and your funny chatter, glad your back on ole grangers board.

Ole Bearkat your little dog will run off all those nasty squirrels, cats, and other dogs that want to use your yard for their business.

Smokey I'm relieved lol your in New Mexico. I'm glad your not watching me go down the mountain because if it got video'd there would be lots of laughs.

I don't guess you'd call it hunting but I nearly ran over 3 or 4muleys today. Also had a spike amble through the yard. It is against city ordinance to feed these deer but some of em look pretty thin and sad.

Smokey that's sad about the Mule Deer being so thin. I don't know if it's against the law to feed them but I and DSH would if they were that thin. We feed the deer in Throck and he's got to go two times because of work. I feed 17 cats that bombard my porch. I feed a stray dog that comes and sits at the door until he's fed. Running over them count as hunting??????? I would say nope and besides that kind of hunting wouldn't be fun. That kind tears up your trucks.

DSH is loading up the 4-wheeler and generator to head to the lease at 1 am. Hopefully a big boy will come in. DSH won't shoot a doe. I know, it's crazy.

I'm taking the day off from hunting today. I went and filled feeders, but I'm mainly making jerky. For lunch, I grilled some backstrap, and it was the best I've ever had. Seasoned and marinated for a few hours with sea salt, Ragin Blaze Cajun Seasoning http://www.raginblaze.com/, and coffee (dry grounds). Put a little butter on top and then grilled until medium rare. A little spicy mustard on the side. INCREDIBLE.

Using the same seasoning for my jerky, minus the butter and mustard, of course. The coffee sounds crazy, but it is good.

Shane that recipe for marinating sounds delicious. Awe the backstrap is my favorite part of the meat. This sounds crazy also but my husband uses mustard on the steaks then grills them. He is like you, trying different seasonings on the steaks and they're mouth watering. The only bad thing is he forgets what he's used so I will be writing down what the spices and rubs are. Husband left at one this morning then fell asleep in the chair this morning. He had to drive from Waco after working 10 hours then had to drive to South Lake as soon as he got into Ft. Worth. I called him every hour on the hour because he's been known to fall asleep and I would have to grab the wheel before we got completely off the road. He was exhausted but he's out in the blind now and I'm praying for a deer.
