I am curious as to what triple option you are referring to. If you are talking about the Marathon Veer, find Vance Jones and get some old tape, he has it somewhere. When he was at Sanderson, he ran a good deal of it. Later, not so much.

If you are talking about O'Brien Veer, which is described in "The BOOK", by C.H. Underwood, contact C.H. or Benny Grill, who is probably around Benjamin. If you could find the All Star game of 78 maybe, that Benny coached and had two guys who had run the Veer in high school, and made a great athlete into a QB, man under, that would be a great film, but unless Benny has it, do not know.

The fore mentioned guys, not sure what venue they played under or what they run, but just mentioning two true triple option from back in the day.

Melrose NM ran a veer option back in the late 80's but do not remember who was coaching them. As HPD mentioned Jones might be able to set you up with some film from his Marathon days.

I hope thats not true about coach Bellard. I played for him back in the 60's. If so prayers to his family, he was a great coach and even better man.

Hey CT6. Send HPD a pm and I bet he will share with you. He was the trigger man when the triple option was run at it's BEST!!

Could someone please post a picture of this triple option that y'all are referring to??
The only version that I am familiar with is the O'Brien veer and I have found that to be somewhat ineffective...

In both versions, you have the option back, that person is given the ball by the pitch man. The option back reads defense, either gives ball to dive back or keeps it himself, or pitches to pitch man. 1, 2, 3, triple option.

Kind of like that except the dive back in both is more straight ahead.

MTBar, that chapter is "Don't worry, you will not be able to stop this offense." ha And then when I asked you if you knew where I was from. Ha
