Texas six man coaches association all star game

What does getting paid have to do with it? Would you coach an all star team just for money? Would you do a better job if you were getting paid?

Again, sixty points behind at half time and still not sending the other boys who came to play into the game, that is a travesty.

How many snaps did your boy play? Or is your complaint that he didn't throw the ball? Did he play? Or did he stand on sideline? So much of an all star game is being in another system. What if your system was all run or all pass and your son was good at the opposite of what the all star coach taught? All factors. Short amount of time. Teach kids a new system on both sides of the ball is a tough chore for anyone.

The offensive player of the year touched the ball 4 times in the stat line. The player of the year touched it 5 times. Your son threw 2 passes, he did at least get a shot.

I would complain to a service like McDonalds or electric company if I was dissatisfied. But I would do it over the phone or their face. When HS coaches get paid like college or pro. Then they sign up for those head aches of newspaper and ESPN public complaints. I'd like to hope HS doesn't ever get to be on that level.

I had no son in the game. My grandson got to play. He was a starter on defense. I am not talking about him not getting to play, he played quite a bit. I am talking about the ones who didn't get to play but one or two plays. This is not about him. This should have been a game for the boys, all the boys, they were ALL all stars, after all. I don't think there were any bad players, so why were the same ones, ones who were not able to do the job in the entire game. I am not saying that they were not good, maybe just having a bad day, but the other boys should have been sent in. You know, maybe they would have done even worse, but how much worse could it have been? IT was not even fair to the ones who played the whole game, it didn't make them look good. If the other boys had been allowed to play and they had been worse, it would have made the starters look better, too. Think about it. Most coaches would have changed their strategy if they saw what they were doing wasn't working instead of running the same plays over and over and with all the same players.

I was there. There weren't any kids that only played one or two plays. Get your facts straight.

I'm sure the parents of those kids are super appreciative of you speaking on their behalf. I've been around long enough and can read enough between the lines to know your posts earlier bout passing and fumbles that your speaking on your behalf cause you wanted your grandson to get more reps. Your out of line and your crippling your grandson. Someone post the coaches number and be a man and get your explanation so you can move on from this Tragedy in your life.

The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice. He saw that there was no one, He was appalled that there was no one to intervene. (Isaiah 59:15-16)

I'm confused about this now. What number was Jesus wearing this weekend? Why the hades wouldn't the coach play Him? Was the coach mad that He messed up the water cooler showing the rest of the guys the walk on water routine?

You know, I'm really a little disappointed. I always figured God would send a plague of locusts or frogs down if He got upset about His kid not playing. Starting an Internet peeing for distance contest really doesn't sound like Him.

Please read what I posted above. I know some boys who were very disappointed. My grandson played most of the game, by the way. This is about being sixty points behind at half time and not sending in the other boys and giving them as much or almost as much playing time as the starters. He doesn't need reps, he is a good player, and according to MaxPreps, the number one passer in the country in sixman football. This game will not make nor break him. He is a good boy and will do well in whatever he chooses to do in life. Don't make this all about him for that would be far from true.

So sad you guys can't take up for the boys, and, again, shame on you all. You COULD be a part in not letting something like this happen again. THAT is what this is all about. Doesn't make the association or you guys look good. An all star game is about the BOYS.

Old, what you posted borders on blasphemy.

Maybe. What I've seen you posting the last 18 hours crosses the border into something else entirely.

At least I ain't quoting God to grind an ax. I'm not eloquent enough to come up with the right word for it......

"Holier than thou" comes to mind though. Are you a member of the Council of Pharisees?

Lol, old, am a retired Christian counselor and am not afraid to take up a cause for the boys, not just these boys, but the boys who might play next year. I don't mind your criticism, I am not afraid of being wrong, and will admit it when I am. I can turn the other cheek for myself, but don't like to see kids hurt or disappointed because of the actions of an adult. I guess you guys don't mind that.

I've got to say I'm a long way from being a good Christian. I do recall the Man we're supposed to emulate throwing a pretty good hair-lipping fit at a temple one time. I'm pretty sure He got that one right for the right reasons.

What I'm questioning is if YOUR fit is being thrown for the right reasons. I've seen a lot of folks making an a$$ of themselves lately, claiming their doing it "for the kids." If you're sitting back and looking at it from a distance though, they're doing it because they're POed about not getting their way. Their personal agenda may fit their kid, but not all the kids.

If you're sure you're right, hiscouncil, far be it from me to stop you. I just have to ask. Have you really taken the time to sit back and think about if you're making an a$$ out of yourself for each an every kid out there? Or are you throwing a fit over your kid?

Personally, it looks like you're just mad. You started posting about it during the game. Did you really take the time to think about this before you started it?

Yes, I did. Now, am going to give you some history. My uncle was twelve years older than me. He was a high school all american football player. I grew up on football. He went on to play for Bear Bryant at Texas A and M. His knees got so bad they had to carry him up the stairs to his apartment at night and he had to quit. Bear was disappointed and told him he had him slated for college all american. My uncle and John David Crow, hiesman trophy winner were best friends in college. In high school my uncle's coach was Joe Kerbil at Breckenridge, look him up if you don't know him. I KNOW the value of a good coach and what a great difference he can make in a football game. I know football. This IS about the kids, a lot of these kids will never get to play again, it was their last time to suit up. They looked forward to this game all year and then came to the game only to find out that the coach had already chosen most of his starting lineup. Then to top it off, when at half time they were sixty points behind, he did not send his clean jerseys in. All the boys should have had equal playing time. This game should not have been about one or two or three players, but all of them. Now, as I said, my grandson played most of the game, this prob would have put him out of the plays for half the game, but would have been fair for ALL the boys. This was an all star game, all the boys there were really good players. There was no reason for the starters who were fumbling the ball, losing the ball to continue in the game. Why not were the other boys allowed as much playing time? Look, you had powerhouse coaches on the west team and not so powerhouse coaches on the east side. They made some bad calls and were not fair to the boys. So, of course, I am talking about the boys. The coaches match up was as one sided as the game was. Did you watch the game?

Sorry, the point I was trying to make, is would my uncle have done as well as he did without the best coaches, no, I don't think so. He was a left tackle and they usually don't get much glory. After Joe Kerbil left Breckenridge, they never had such great teams as they did when he was there. He went on to coach at Canyon and produced players like Dwayne Thomas and Mercury Morris. Was he an easy coach, NO, very tough, but a good coach, YES. My grandson had an excellent coach this year and he was one of the main reasons his team did so well. And who can deny that Bear Bryant was an excellent coach? So, does poor coaching bother me, YES.

Alright you POS I'm getting tired of your rant. There were no clean jerseys Every player got on the field. Get your panties out of a bunch, sit back, and stfu!

Anyway, am weary of all the arguing. I just don't want this to happen to any other boys. There is nothing more I can say or do. I just wish all of you would support the boys and see that anything like this doesn't happen again.

I have been reading the post from hiscounel and seems to me that you are also bashing the QB. Happen to know this player and family very well; he is an outstanding student and player. Guess you were to busy watching the players on the sideline to notice that the young man threw the only point scoring pass for the east; oh and then snapped the ball for extra point which was no good and for a punt the punter missed. If you where watching then you should have seen the numerous bad snaps that the young man handled pretty good. One snap even went back so far the deep back picked it up and threw the ball to #50. Other times the qb and running back where being tackled at the same time or so close to it the ball never made the exchange. As far as defense how many times did the east let #33 catch the ball. second half #50 played corner and 33 best i remember did not catch a pass on his side of the field. I am not saying he was the greatest player on the east but just standing up for a kid who is also getting bashed along with the coach. other things that should be considered is that some power house east teams drop to D2 and the east / west line is off. Maybe divide the state down I35. Lastly; thank you for being willing to stand up for the boys; but you sure chose the wrong way to do.

I was not at the game and don't know the players numbers but I am guessing #33 for the West was the tall boy from Throck. I am guessing by the score they didn't throw the ball very much the second half....That could also be why he didn't catch many passes...

Throughout most of this season, it was talked about on here how the West was far stronger than the East....I would think the East coach had an uphill battle in this game from the start.

this concept of a public forum allows one to make stupid and obnoxious statements as well as the occasional intelligent one.

Is this me in a nutshell or what?

Okay, this is the letter I sent to the Coaches Association:
I wasn't very clear, what I was saying about the coaches is that each side should have coaches, and I guess there are three, none from the same team. I think this would make everything very fair.

Subject: boys

First, I want to make it clear that this is not about my grandson. The game is over and he is my youngest grand child. It will be many years before my great grandchildren play football. The east west game Saturday night was a travesty. Sixty points behind at half time and the coach didn't even put in other boys. The starters were fumbling the ball away time after time and not even advancing the ball. I am sure the west would have won regardless, but why weren't the boys making the mistakes over and over pulled from the game?

Could I please suggest that the coaches allow each boy to play at least half of the game? This game should be about the boys. They all came to play, all are all stars, all are good players. This is the last time most of those boys will ever suit up for football. This is not about the loss, but about the boys who got to play very little. They looked forward to this game all year.

Also, why were the east coaches all from the same team. I was told that the east coach had most of his starting lineup picked out before the boys ever arrived. With coaches from different teams on each side, the choices could be much more objective.

The coaching in this game was as lopsided as the game was.

Please think about the boys, this game should showcase them all, not just two or three players.

Please forgive me if I am out of place, but I care about these boys. You can change things and be a leader in this field, and step out for ALL the boys.

Thank you,
