State Champion Predictions?

Well I did not see that one coming, Looks like a Jonesboro is either the top or one of the top teams in D2, RS and them should be a game to see. MC and Guthrie should be a good game as well.

Shad, I wouldn't take Guthrie lightly, Their front line is great at blocking and they have the running backs to make plays happen, they can give any team a hard time if they play at their best.
Me saying Guthrie is not at #2 is not the same as me taking them lightly. In fact, I won't take them any way at all, I'm an old guy, not a player, coach, etc. I hate that cliché almost as much as "don't count em out". Nobody take a team like Guthrie lightly. Yes, Guthrie at their best can beat (insert better team of your choice here), if Guthrie plays at their best and so and so plays less than their potential.

If you pay attention at all, you would know that my statement was a direct reply to someone moaning about how the state championships are not #1 vs #2, largely in part due to the fact that in both divisions, 1 & 2 are in the same regions.

I think this is where you come back with "any given Friday....yada, bada, hiney ho"

Actually if you follow football at all you would know my statement is true. Not so much moaning but making a statement. Idk how y'all do it in private school ball but who really cares.

Do you do crack? Lay the pipe down man.
1) "if you follow football at all you would know my statement is true." -Yeah, we know your statement is true, and SO obvious, most of us didn't feel the need to say it. Trust me, you didn't make a grand discovery.
2) Who is y'all? I'm from Gordon. Everyone knows that, I've never hidden that.
3) you ever hear of Sixmania? That is me and CowboyP. I do the rankings, I think I might follow football just a tad, just sayin'.
4) "who really cares" ------ "Better to keep your mouth shut and people to think you a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt."

One friday night wrecks a 3 page thread..............
It needed a little wrecking............ How many times can the same thing be said? Nobody is changing anybody's mind about anything.............

In the end, it comes down to heart and coaching. We played Calvert in 2010 and they had some truly remarkable athletes. We were out athletes for sure, but we had even more remarkable coaching and had heart. The kind of heart that puts the mentality of "We will either win or die trying." It was a long hard fought and believe me the likes of Blair Bunns, JaMarcus Ashley and Andre Ross were determined they would make it the latter. But thorough practice(Thanksgiving morning included), year long conditioning, film study, and heart determined the victor. As said by Jimmy McGinty in The Replacements, "Heart, it's gonna take miles and miles of heart." This deep in the season, that's exactly what it will take.
