I don't know why Leakey is so die hard 11 man. They never played 11 man intil 1976. Before that they were 8 man from 1962-1975, and 6 man before that. Rocksprings went in and out of 8 man several times in the 60's.

When the difference is between 6 man football and no football, a lot of that tough talk about how we'll always play 11 man or drop the sport all of a sudden really doesn't mean much.

I've heard stories that Dublin Premier Charter may play in UIL or in T-CAL. Does anybody have any confirmation either way?
You UIL folks can correct me on this, but I had a supt. tell me last month that you had to identify sports you plan to compete in for 2012-2014 sometime around September 1st, although there were some opportunities to petition for late inclusion. My guess is when stuff comes out in February, it's too late for most mere mortals to make the switch.
Obviously, last cycle Chester started as an 11 man school but was unable to compete. They were assigned to a 6 man district this time through, but I'd guess that the district had to vote to accept them at that time.
I've also been told that UIL AUTOMATICALLY assigns all football schools under 99.9 enrollment to 6 man UNLESS the school specifically petitions to play 11 man. But I'll take the wise words of my public school friends on this on.

i know uil does not care but the DII schools should have more in their division some will not be able to fill a team or will have to drop due to getting 1 kid hurt or grades or anythin they just dont have any margin
I'd bet the powers that be don't want Rankin in div 2 so they'll make the cut off 52.5
Division one had more teams in the last realignment and I see no reason to believe that won't happen again. Nothing says the split has to be perfectly even. If they want division 1 to have more teams than d2 then that's how it will be...
