Official Numbers for Realignment

I have heard the powers that be hav actually or are actually considering tampering with the 99.5 number as well. Is there any truth to this number bumping to say 105 or 110?

Sorry to repeat if it has already been brought up!

According to theoldcoach.com, Menard turned in 93.5.

Runge, who a lot of us in South Texas always thought would be the next candidate for sixman, turned in 100 on the dot.

They won't change it....according to the UIL website (on a document concerning 2012-2014 realignment) it says "schools with less than 99.9 enrollment....yada, yada, yada...."

That statement leads me to believe they won't change the number.....it's also the only number written in the whole document.....so the other cut-off numbers are a mystery.

If UIL were to change the number from 99.9 to any other number, there'd be about seven dozen committee meetings, fourty-two press releases, and thirteen surveys and polls taken by UIL of the school administrators.

(And of course, most of us would totally forget they had been done).

I still think that the decision to extend Division 1/Division 2 district scheduling to 1A and 2A crowded field ball probably has delayed any such change for probably this and maybe another realignment cycle. From my vantage point, it looks like there will be at least six to ten new UIL sixman teams assigned to districts in 2012-2014, so the need to "restock" the sixman division really isn't that crucial to UIL.

Now, if consolidation and reduced enrollment starts to shrink the number of sixman schools, then look to UIL to goose that number up slightly.

Right now, the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" rule tends to apply.

Check your numbers!!
53.5 = 67 D1 and 73 D2
52.5 = 72 D1 and 68 D2

According to these numbers!

Is 53 low enough to get Rankin in D2? And will Aspermont be in the west or get stuck in a district with Jayton and be in the east? Could be really interesting. And you didn't even mention Sands.

There is plenty of room for some schools to end up in a neighboring district. There’s no telling how this will actually turn out.
I apologize if I left anyone out. Vis-a-vis pen wipes off too easily.

I wouldn't put to much stock into roscoe going 6man/ They told Don Hardin they would rather see the town blow up before going to 6man. Pure ignorance.

Roscoe folks never told be that. However I did hear words to that effect in Roby and in Naz. Seems Bronte folks have some disdain for the greatest sport on the planet as well. Some folks have a clearer thought process now days. Naz being one of them.

Don't know their numbers but I would love to see Baird and Cross Plains come into the fold. Roscoe should consider it. I have placed calls to Marfa and Rotan as well as Nazareth to WELCOME them to our world.

I know it is a hard decision to make and I applaud schools that even look our direction.

Looking at the possible district makeups, you know some years back, if a team won a district championship they had really accomplished something. Nowdays, you win 2 or 3 games and you are District Champs! Now, what kind of honor is that? Make the districts large enough so that it is the accomplishment that it should be! Just my two cents worth.

Dang, under this scenario I would be better off flying to El Paso and renting a car to get to Buena Vista or the Grandfalls-Royalty games. OK may be in to MAF but still going to put a dent into my schedule.
