Newby

I planted 3 of those Hybrid Poplar
back in Dec.
and they're all budding out now!!
I planted a small Oak I dug up
but she's taking her sweet time.

I've got a friend that's currently revitalizing some old pecan orchards. One of the orchards had the original "Mother Tree" that most of the improved varieties came from. It was well over 150 years old but it had finally succumbed to years of drouth.
Talk about changes in harvesting methods.... The early settlers would cut off limbs of trees to get to the nuts or in some cases cut the whole tree down.
Friend is planting over 3000 trees and putting in irrigation system so maybe these will last another 150 years.........

"...there are officials that have been calling their first year for the past 25 years,..."

From that referee thread...
This was so funny when I first read it.
Now?
Not so much.
IMHO,
this is the problem with experience on paper.
The same as above could be said
of some teachers, coaches, machinist, pumpers etc.
It's what a person does
with their experience, training, and abilities
that matters.
For example,
I know a place where
there's approx 50 cumulative yrs paper experience,
(not counting me),
and we just started workin' out.
It's April for goodness sake
and we're starting an exercise program?
Ugh! Better late than never I suppose.
Silly ol' newby me suggested we start back in Aug./2adayz
But the experienced said learn to run plays/strategy etc. first.
Kids were never in shape to run much of anything.
Sad.
jus sayin'.

Smokey, Christmas is supposed to be the bah-humbug season. Sounds like you are gunning for two hunting seasons! Look out you wascalley wabbits! But you're right. Easter bunnies are even dumber than Santa Claus.

Caught 9 little pigs yesterday............they will not grow up to be big hogs........

If you load your trailer with feral hogs and head for Donops in Mason
Is it called Pulled Pork ?
After a while you don't want to eat 'm.........just shoot 'em, rebait, catch more, then repeat process...........

Anybody planning to attend the all star game in zephyr? If there was a shade tree anywhere around the field I'd suggest meeting under it but I don't recall seeing any around there.............
