If I hear one more tree-hugging, tofu eating moron talking about how the little piggies are being tormented by the mean rednecks, I may see if I can start trapping them.....................
Like all the suburban idiots who scream every time someone tries to get control of the deer population around here. The wasting disease is already here and is caused by overpopulation, yet when the hunting season is expanded, bag limits are increased, or someone proposes to allow hunting in the Crook County forest preserves, PETA starts chaining themselves to the County Executive's office door.
I was watching a show on the history channel this weekend about a bunch of bow hunters that hunt in suburban Connecticutt. Some of the "people" (from their attitude, it's hard for me to call them that) they deal with up there are plumb, frigging nuts.
Back in 1997 when I moved up here to Illinoisy to work at the Dresden Nuclear plant, the first thing I noticed was the huge number of deer on the plant site (and no, they don't glow!). A week later, a chemistry trchnician ws killed when she was leaving after her shift ended at 1AM when a deer went through her windshield and put a hoof through her forehead. The plant manager had been really complaingin about the problem and finally got authorization from the corporate HQ to allow several bowhunters to come in during the season (October) and knock off a couple hundred. The DNR signed off on a temporary bag limit increase for that specific site.
Three PETA weenies got wind of it and chained themselves to the CEO's office door in downtown Chicago and refused to leave all the while chanting inane peoms about sweet innocent deer. Instead of calling the cops and forcibly removing the idiots, the CEO (who later came out a a REALLY BIG 0bama supporter) negotiated with them, and agreed to call off the hunt and let PETA come in there and "humanely" trap the "excess" deer.
Their 'trappers" were flaming idiots and in 3 months of trying actually caught and tagged 10 deer. The took them 50 miles away and released them on a state park. in less than a month, all 10 tagged deer were back at Dresden, but the CEO still would not, and still has not allowed the hunt to take place.
