Week 8 Player of the Week:
JD Moore – Forestburg – 8-190 yards, 5 TDs rushing; 6-10 for 145 yards, 2 TDs passing; 11 tackles; 2 2pt PATs
Offensively, Moore lead Forestburg in a come-from-behind win over district foe Saint Jo, 54-45. He rushed for 190 yards and five touchdowns on just eight carries…that’s a 23.75 yards per carry clip. He also threw for 145 yards and two more touchdowns and converted two PAT kicks. Defensively he helped out, logging 11 tackles. A big night for Mr. Moore and a big win for Forestburg.

Honorable Mention:
Taron Smith – Milford – 198 yards, 3 TDs rushing; 169 yards, 3 TDs passing; 1 fumble recovery returned for a TD

Smith is turning nights like this into a routine, but this week was against a salty and highly ranked Garden City squad, which makes it all more impressive. His 367 total yards, and a scoop and score on defense help lead Milford to the 66-61 win.

Bear Osteen – Forestburg – 22 tackles, 2 INTs; 4-97 yards, 2 TDs receiving; 3-22 yards, 1 TD rushing
A huge defensive night in a huge district showdown Osteen logged 22 tackles and picked off 2 passes in a come-from-behind win for Forestburg over Saint Jo. He also added 97 yards receiving and scored three touchdowns.

Colton McCarley – Happy – 10-250 yards, 6 TDs rushing; 3-4-0 for 79 yards 1 TD passing; 8/9 PAT kicks
In a 70-20 win over Follett, McCarley scored 52 points himself and aided in six more by throwing a touchdown pass. Colton averaged 25 yards a carry, as he racked up 250 yards on the ground with six touchdowns on just 10 carries.

Parker Carson – Valley – 14-18-0 for 308 yards, 7 TDs passing
Valley beat Lubbock Home School in a high scoring affair last week, 93-44. While the Patriots had several stand out performances, QB Carson’s 308 yards and seven touchdowns through the air stand out the most, as he completed 77% of his passes with zero interceptions.

Jalen Helms – Grandfalls-Royalty – 20-29-0, 279 yards, 7 TDs passing; 9-96 yards, 1 TD rushing
Helms’ passing performance enabled Grandfalls to fend off a tough Dell City team, 58-36, in a big district showdown. He had a hand in all of the Cowboy’s touchdowns throwing for seven and rushing for one.

Wow 2 of my boys in one week. They are looking forward to next weeks tough game against Bryson clash of cousins JD vs Paul Davidson.
