Hot Pepper Fans?!?!

I have to wear safety glasses when stringing and slicing them... the oil that goes into the air is brutal. The family dog ran inside and hid... she had been right besides me as I started cutting them open.

Smart dog.

My wife and kids have told me I am crazy. For some reason they think peppers that hot shouldn't be grown. I think they will make some "interesting" hot sauce. Unfortunatly the warden has said they won't be allowed in her kitchen.

Come on down to HHR&WPC&SWW; we allow nearly anything in our kitchen.
Remember, "What Happens at HHR&WPC&SWW, Stays at HHR&WPC&SWW" For an agreed upon price that is.

Pods have been sent to all who showed interest. Please PM me when/if you receive them. If you don't get them in 3-4 weeks, they didn't make it past the border. Woman at the post office said they may all arrive, some may arrive, or none at all. Keeping my fingers crossed you all experience the pain of the Trinidad Scorpion.

Beautiful red dried pods arrived. The smell was nice so I pulled a small hunk off just to taste. About half a dime size. Popped it into my mouth and savored, great taste, but then in about 5 seconds it felt like I was sucking on a 220 volt circuit, the tingle was physical and the heat was coming on strong.

I lasted another 10 seconds and removed what I suspect is a here to unknown isotope of plutonium. I felt like a miniature nuclear reaction was in the first stage of meltdown IN MY MOUTH! lip and gums going numb. but the heat is fading fast so where did I put that thing. . .

Second attack is worse and faster, hit the back of my throat, the heat isn't to bad but the searing pain on contact, I will wash very carefully before handling precious body parts.

Now all I need to do is to remember to keep my hands away from my face, especially the eyes.

OK, I'm learning, it goes back in the same location, still fell it but the numbing power actually helps. Hard to see what I'm typing, sweating up and tearing up. screwed up and wiped a trace of a tear off my face, holy crap batman, these things can get hot. Feel like I have a 9volt battery stuck to my tongue.

Hope the seeds are viable, I want to grow some of these. . .

mine too; yo no tiene chili este dia.

Hey Pete I would be more concerned about touching things other than face & eyes if I were you.

I think Smokey's saying you want to wash your hands real good before and after you go pee.

Patience gentlemen, it is incredible that Pete got his already. I didn't expect the first ones to arrive until this time NEXT week. If any of you still don't have your pods by next Friday (Sept. 30th) I will resend once my next set of dried pods are ready... should be middle of first week in October. My final harvest is taking place this weekend. 40 pods left on my last plant!

Pete: They are HOT, just wait until you try a fresh one next year... ;)

That part I know. . . I use one hand only when working with peppers, FYI the tingle and sweats are almost gone, time to try some more.

I have the HHR&WPC&SWW Groundskeeper standing by. He is quite an accomplished agronomist. He is also a retired Air Force Fireman so that should come in handy as well. He has a greenhouse and is going to start a bunch of plants in there so we should be able to supply any brave souls who wish to try their Horticultural Luck.
