Of course not. Last year they had an awesome season. I was merely commenting on the ratings. Even at the end of the season, they all still had Milford below Abbott in the rankings when we all know who won the head to head match up. It's just not right

That happens sometimes, especially if the victory happens early in the season. Last year WV beat Borden County by a touchdown but ended up below them in the final rankings. It's a dynamic thing, this ranking business, and one that is heavily influenced by recency. It's a "what have you done for me lately" type of thing. Of course, when the team you beat makes a deep run in the playoffs it makes it hard to be ranked ahead of them at the end.

I think T-Rock at #5 is ill-advised. I say they are #1 or, at least, #2 (based on DC being their only loss last year). Of course, I'm still smarting from the playoffs last year so what do I know? Still, it's hard to erase the memory of the Greyhounds methodically crushing everyone in their playoff path last year.

Oh not at all....I would put DC top of these rankings just based off their returning starters and the year they had last year with the wins they had and the caliber of teams they played. Abbott is gonna be a great team like always but I think their run to a state title shot last year might be a little much to ask for this year. Tyler was too big of a loss to Abbott along with the she's they lost. I know they got replacements but I think 2014 is their time not this year

I like rankings. They definitely give us something to look at and talk about. One thing I cringed on was seeing Oakwood below us in the rankings. They knocked us out of the playoffs and lost less to graduation. While I appreciate the ranking, and truly believe we'll justify it; it just felt weird to be in front of them. Also, I saw Calvert this past week and I think everyone will be shocked to see them back to the good old days. they were fast and very aggressive.

Hell it's hard to argue their strength of schedule when they open the season with Candelaria!

Now hold on there Candelaria is returning everyone that wasn't there last year. And I watched them scrimmaged Shafter, game was called early in the first quarter, ref noticed the football was actually a dead armadillo .
